In the mining industry, celebrating Earth Day is important to us as it reminds us that the resources we have come from nature. At Verum Terra Geoscience Inc. (VTGI), we believe in giving back through meaningful actions that promote sustainable environmental protection.

Led by the Mine Environmental Protection and Enhancement Office (MEPEO), the EcoBrick Challenge and Tree Planting Activity were successfully conducted for Verum employees. These initiatives aim to reduce solid waste, especially plastic bottles and wrappers, while the tree planting activity contributes to the rehabilitation and restoration of available areas.

Participants submitted their completed eco-bricks in exchange for 10 kg of rice and cash assistance. Additional cash assistance was also provided by Resident Mine Manager Mark Limwyl Godinez and the Admin Manager Rasheela Ann Reyes while the Community Relations Office (CREDO) provided the rice support.

At the same time, a Tree Planting Activity was conducted in available rehabilitation areas to help restore and enrich the environment.

At VTGI, responsible mining goes hand in hand with responsible environmental stewardship.

Verum Terra Geoscience Inc. proudly participated in the Regional Enterprise-Based Education and Training (EBET) Program organized by Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) in Tacloban City.

VTGI serves as a TESDA accredited school training program for the communities of Homonhon Island, in partnership with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) bringing essential skills development opportunities closer to remote areas like Homonhon Island.

This initiative empowered Homonhonanon through Hands-on learning and practical knowledge in Hydraulic Excavator NC II and Rigid On Highway Dump Truck NC II designed to enhance employability and support sustainable knowledge and skills of the trainees. By fostering the Host and Neighboring community participation and strengthening industry-relevant competencies, the program reflects VTGI's ongoing commitment to inclusive growth, capacity building, and creating job opportunities for economic resilience among Homonhonanon especially to the Host and Neighboring communities of the company.
