Meet Audrey!

Hi! 👋 It’s me, the NCDEO Secretary and Social Media Coordinator, Audrey Baran. I’m happy to (re)introduce myself in this lineup of amazing board members we have this season! I look forward to sharing the awesome dance news and events happening throughout NC. Send us your stuff — LINK IN BIO!

💫 Audrey Baran is a Charlotte-based dance maker, performer, and educator and the Artistic / Executive Director of Baran Dance, a non-profit organization and multifaceted contemporary dance company. She holds a MFA in Dance from Hollins University and a BA in Dance and Graduate Certificate in Anti-Racism in Urban Education from UNC Charlotte. Baran was a selected choreographer for the 2022 Joffrey Ballet’s Winning Works and Charlotte Ballet’s Innovative: Direct from the LAB 2021. Baran has presented work in the Small Plates Dance Festival, Richmond Dance Festival, Sites in the City, FEMMEfest, the National Dance Educators Organization Conference, Bill Evans Somatic Dance Conference, the North Carolina Dance Festival, To***co Road Dance Productions, Triangle Dance Project, Ladyfest CLT, and the Charlotte Dance Festival. Baran is also a 500-hour Registered Yoga Teacher and MUNZ FLOOR® coach and thrives on sharing her research on the intersection of movement and mindfulness among diverse bodies in action. pc:
