"Wall-mounted ba o ceiling cassette?"
This is the most common question we get before a commercial
or semi-commercial aircon installation — and the answer
depends entirely on three things: your room shape,
your ceiling, and how the space is used. ❄️
After 25 years of installing both types across Metro Manila
and Cebu, here is the framework we use:
──────────────────────────────────────
🖼️ WALL-MOUNTED SPLIT TYPE
──────────────────────────────────────
The wall-mounted unit sits on a bracket on the wall,
with the outdoor unit connected by copper pipe.
Air is distributed in one or two directions from
the unit's position on the wall.
Best for:
→ Bedrooms, salas, condo units
→ Spaces without false ceilings
→ Rectangular rooms where one wall can serve
the full floor area
→ HP range: 0.5HP to 3HP+ (residential scale)
→ Budget-accessible — from ~₱25,000 for 1HP
Limitations:
→ Airflow in 1–2 directions only — corners
and far ends of the room receive less airflow
→ Unit is visible on the wall — aesthetic consideration
in premium commercial settings
→ Less ideal for open-plan or square rooms
where a single wall direction leaves dead zones
──────────────────────────────────────
⬛ CEILING CASSETTE
──────────────────────────────────────
The ceiling cassette is recessed into the false ceiling
with only the flat panel visible flush from below.
Air is distributed in four directions simultaneously
from the center of the ceiling — covering every corner
of the room evenly.
Best for:
→ Offices, restaurants, clinics, retail stores
→ Spaces with false ceilings
(minimum 300–400mm clearance above the ceiling)
→ Square or open-plan room layouts
→ Spaces where aesthetics matter — no unit on the wall
→ HP range: 2HP to 6HP+ (commercial scale)
→ Price point: from ₱74,035 for Panasonic 2HP
Limitations:
→ Requires false ceiling — not suitable for spaces
without ceiling clearance
→ Higher installation cost and complexity
→ Filter cleaning requires a ladder and
panel removal — less accessible than wall units
──────────────────────────────────────
THE SIMPLE RULE:
──────────────────────────────────────
Residential + no false ceiling = wall-mounted.
Commercial + false ceiling + open plan = cassette.
When in doubt — DM us the room dimensions and
we will tell you which one makes more sense.
