TAKAP
"Details that Make A Difference"
“Takap” is a Kapampangan word which mean “cover.” This project began with a simple architectural challenge: our client’s dirty kitchen was highly visible from the main road, creating an undesirable view from the street. The goal was to provide a cover that would complement the existing house while still allowing natural light and ventilation to pass through and from this simple idea, TAKAP was born.
Inspired by our client’s idea, we developed a solution using PVC decking arranged with calculated spacing, allowing air to naturally flow through while providing the necessary visual screening. We also adjusted a portion of the wall to accommodate plants, introducing a touch of greenery that softens the space and creates a more welcoming connection with nature. For the flooring, we selected Aspero dark tiles to achieve a clean, sleek, and cohesive finish.
What started as a small detail became a meaningful improvement to the overall appearance of the house. It is a reminder that in architecture, even the elements we often overlook can have a significant impact.
We build through our vision (Haraya), driven by curiosity.
