In line with the Philippine National Police (PNP) Focused Agenda on Enhanced Managing Police Operations, and under the leadership and supervision of PMAJ ALEJANDRO L PARTA JR, OIC, RECU-NCR, personnel of the Regional EOD and Canine Unit – National Capital Region (RECU-NCR) successfully conducted a Junkshop Visitation and Inspection as part of its continuing efforts to strengthen public safety and prevent the unlawful acquisition, possession, and disposal of explosive-related materials.
The activity aimed to ensure compliance with existing laws, rules, and regulations governing the operation of junkshops, particularly concerning the handling, storage, and disposal of potentially hazardous and explosive materials. During the inspection, RECU-NCR personnel coordinated with junkshop owners and operators, provided safety reminders, and emphasized the importance of immediately reporting suspicious items, unexploded ordnance, improvised explosive device (IED) components, and other dangerous materials that may pose a threat to public safety.
This initiative forms part of the PNP's proactive measures to enhance community awareness, strengthen partnerships with business establishments, and prevent the proliferation of explosive-related threats within the community. Through continuous monitoring, inspection, and engagement activities, RECU-NCR remains committed to maintaining peace and order while ensuring the safety and security of the public.
The Regional EOD and Canine Unit–NCR encourages all business owners and community members to remain vigilant and to promptly report any suspicious activities or items to the nearest police station or EOD personnel for proper assessment and disposition.
Together, through cooperation, vigilance, and responsible community participation, we can build a safer and more secure environment for everyone.
