1.7 Million Trees for a Greener Pakistan! 🌳

On the auspicious occasion of Independence Day 14 August 2026, the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa celebrated freedom in a truly green spirit by launching a historic plantation drive under Green Pakistan Vision, aiming to plant over 1.4 million trees across 15 districts of the province. 🌳

The flagship ceremony was held at Nowshera, Hazara Motorway E-35, featuring a dignified flag hoisting ceremony followed by the ceremonial plantation led by the Chief Guest Commissioner Hazara Mr. Shahullah Khan, Chief Conservator of Forests (CCF) Mr. Asghar Khan, Deputy Commissioner Conservator of Forests Lower Hazara Mr Hayat Ali, Conservator of Forests Watershed Circle Abbottabad and Mr. Sarmad Saleem, along with senior forestry officials and representatives of the administrative departments. 🌱

In addition, more than 21,000 trees were planted by enthusiastic participants including civil society members, faculty and students of the University of Haripur, and the local community, reflecting strong public engagement and environmental commitment. 🌳

This powerful initiative stands as a symbol of unity, responsibility, and vision bringing together government, institutions, and citizens to build a greener, cleaner, and more sustainable future for Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Pakistan. 🌿

🌱 Independence Day Mega Plantation Drive — 14 August 2026 🇵🇰

In connection with the 79th Independence Day of Pakistan and on the special directions of the Honourable Chief Ministexr, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Chief Secretary Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Secretary Forest, Environment & Wildlife Department, Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, a Special Mega Plantation Event was successfully organized today, 14 August 2026, at Susal, Agror Tanawal Forest Division, Mansehra.

The event was graced by Mr. Saleem Marwat, Conservator of Forests, Upper Hazara Circle, Mansehra, Mr. Saeed Wazir, DFO Agror Tanawal Forest Division, AD Upper Hazara Circle, Mr. Hanif Khan, CDO (Male), Ms. Atifa, CDO (Female), Mr. Ayaz Ali Shah, DFO Kunhar Watershed Forest Division, along with concerned SDFO, RFO and field staff.

Representatives of the PTI Women Wing, various social and welfare organizations, students, local communities, and participants from different institutions and segments of society also actively participated in the plantation drive.

🌳 A total of 17,200 plants were successfully planted during the event, reflecting strong institutional and community participation toward increasing green cover, restoring the environment, and promoting a greener and climate-resilient Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The event also conveyed a strong message that Independence Day is not only a celebration of our freedom but also a commitment to protect and conserve the natural resources of Pakistan for future generations.

🌿🇵🇰 14th August Mega Plantation – Bhogarmang, Jabori

In continuation of the 14th August Mega Plantation Campaign, Siran Forest Division organised a grand plantation event at Bhogarmang, Jabori, bringing together students, faculty, forest professionals, local communities, youth organisations and representatives from various departments under the shared vision of a Greener, Healthier and Climate-Resilient Pakistan.

The event was made truly special by the enthusiastic participation of the students and faculty of Pakistan Forest Institute, whose presence added both significance and energy to the occasion. The event was graced by distinguished guests including MNA Shahzada Gustasip Khan, Riaz Khan Bhogarmang, Atif Majeed, Director Education PFI, DFO Siran Forest Division, DFO Wildlife Mansehra, DFO Kunhar Watershed, AD R&D Hazara, along with school students, youth organisations and media personnel.

The participants actively joined the plantation drive, planting trees and reaffirming their commitment to protecting and expanding the green wealth of the region. The occasion also provided an opportunity to highlight the importance of forests in combating climate change, protecting biodiversity, conserving water resources and securing a sustainable future for generations to come.

As the nation celebrated its Independence Day, the plantation activity echoed a powerful message:

14th August, Independence Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm by the Forest Department in collaboration with the District Administration, Mansehra at Balakot.
The event was graced by MPA Munir Hussain Lugmani, Deputy Commissioner Mansehra, DFO Kaghan, Assistant Commissioner Balakot, SDFO Balakot, SP Balakot, DSP Balakot, and representatives of other line departments.
The ceremony commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by addresses from the distinguished guests, who highlighted the importance of Independence Day, national unity, and collective responsibility for the development and prosperity of Pakistan.
At the end of the ceremony, a tree plantation activity was carried out in the premises of Government High School Balakot. The plantation activity reflected the commitment of the Forest Department and District Administration towards environmental conservation, increasing forest cover, and promoting a greener Pakistan.
