This residential renovation is organized around a double-height entry volume that introduces light deep into the interior. The open plan is calibrated through warm wood finishes, carefully placed built-ins, and a stair that functions as both circulation and storage. A quiet, modern expression grounded in simplicity and craft.

A Study in Material Precision

This thoughtfully designed 421-square-foot micro apartment balances warmth, efficiency, and modern minimalism through a refined palette of materials. White powder-coated metal detailing adds a crisp, contemporary edge, complementing the smooth durability of cement board surfaces.

Expansive oak paneling wraps the interiors in a natural warmth, integrating storage, kitchen, and living zones into a cohesive whole.

Concealed pocket doors and integrated lighting are essential to the success of the design, ensuring fluid transitions between spaces while maintaining clarity and openness.

The result is a compact yet highly functional living environment where every inch is optimized, and materiality takes center stage—proof that small spaces can deliver both comfort and elegance.

In designing this 421-square-foot micro apartment, our goal was to create a space that feels expansive, functional, and grounded in material honesty despite its compact footprint.

Every decision, from the layout to the smallest hardware detail, was guided by the principle of integration.

Oak paneling becomes the unifying element, wrapping walls, cabinetry, and built-ins to create a continuous visual flow.

The warmth of the wood is balanced by the crisp precision of white powder-coated metal, used in shelving, lighting, and hardware to bring a subtle contemporary edge.

Cement board surfaces introduce a muted, tactile backdrop, adding durability and a quiet material presence that frames daily life.

By aligning storage, kitchen, and living spaces in a seamless sequence, the apartment avoids visual clutter and maximizes usability.

Light filters through the space, reflecting softly off the pale surfaces, enhancing the perception of openness.

In a footprint this small, materiality becomes more than aesthetic, it is the architecture itself, shaping the experience of home.

A disciplined composition of light, rhythm, and material defines the location at Terminal D.
 
The intervention translates the clarity of the brand into architectural terms: modularity, repetition, and transparency. Custom canopy structures with integrated lighting delineate circulation while establishing a sense of procession. Slatted oak millwork and vertical fins provide texture and warmth against the aluminum frame and glazing system, balancing industrial precision with material softness.
 
Every detail—from fixture alignment to soffit integration—was coordinated to express order and continuity across the space.

We are proud to unveil our latest collaboration with — a fully automated coffee shop and convenience store located in Terminal D of Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport in San Juan, Puerto Rico (SJU).

This concept merges intuitive spatial design with advanced AI technology to deliver an autonomous retail experience. Framed by a minimal yet warm material palette, the architecture balances transparency, security, and flow, guiding users seamlessly through a frictionless self-service environment.

Every gesture of the structure — from the rhythm of the vertical slats to the alignment of lighting and access points—reinforces clarity and order. The result is a space that speaks to the evolving nature of travel, hospitality, and design in high-mobility contexts.
