I have prepared for you a list of five indoor plants that do not require a lot of care.

LOW-MAINTENANCE plants 🪴

1. Zamioculcas zamiifolia or ZZ plant -
drought-tolerant thanks to its rhizomatous root system that stores water, allowing it to go long periods without watering. It thrives in low-light conditions, making it ideal for spots away from direct sunlight.

2. Succulent plants. They can thrive in dry conditions as they store water in their leaves, stems, or roots. Prefer bright light 🌞 , but can adapt to less direct sunlight.

3. Chlorophytum (Spider plants) - highly adaptable, occasional watering when the soil dries out, produces baby plants that can be easily propagated.

4. Dracaena plants are adaptable to a variety of indoor conditions. They prefer indirect light but can tolerate lower light levels.

5. Ficus elastica is robust, requiring minimal care once the right conditions are met. It loves bright light 🌞. And don't forget to wipe off the dust from the leaves.

1. Zamioculcas zamiifolia ou planta ZZ -
tolerante à seca graças ao seu sistema radicular rizomatoso que armazena água, permitindo-lhe passar longos períodos sem rega. Desenvolve-se em condições de pouca luz, o que a torna ideal para locais longe da luz solar direta.

2. Plantas suculentas. Podem prosperar em condições secas, uma vez que armazenam água nas suas folhas, caules ou raízes. Preferem luz brilhante 🌞 , mas podem adaptar-se a uma luz solar menos direta.

3. Chlorophytum (plantas-aranha) - altamente adaptável, rega ocasional quando o solo seca, produz plantas bebés que podem ser facilmente propagadas.

4. As plantas Dracaena são adaptáveis a uma variedade de condições de interior. Preferem luz indireta mas podem tolerar níveis de luz mais baixos.

5. A Ficus elastica é robusta, exigindo cuidados mínimos quando estão reunidas as condições correctas. Adora luz brilhante 🌞. E não te esqueças de limpar o pó das folhas.

Hi everyone 🤟

A few days ago I discovered that my fern’s leaves began to fall off and it started to look bad. Since it has all the conditions for normal growth, I think that the problem is spider mites or thrips. One of these days I’ll treat it with an insecticide/acaricide and see what happens next.

A few more tips:
I bathe my handsome man under shower twice a month in the warm season, and in the winter as needed. I try to remove in time dead branches and leaves, as this is a source of fungal diseases.

Pots with self-watering are very convenient for ferns because they do not tolerate drying out of the soil. That's all for now.😎

Há alguns dias descobri que as folhas do meu feto começaram a cair e ele começou a ficar com mau aspeto. Como tem todas as condições para um crescimento normal, penso que o problema são os ácaros ou os tripes. Um dia destes vou tratá-la com um inseticida/acaricida e ver o que acontece a seguir.

Mais algumas dicas:
Dou banho ao meu feto debaixo do chuveiro duas vezes por mês na estação quente e, no inverno, sempre que necessário. Tento remover a tempo os ramos e folhas mortos, pois são uma fonte de doenças fúngicas.

Os vasos com rega automática são muito convenientes para os fetos, porque não toleram a secagem do solo. Por agora é tudo.😎

Variegation is a word that is often heard in the gardening world.
The appearance of multi-colored (not green) zones on the leaves and sometimes on the stems and flowers of plants is called variegation.
What causes it? There may be several reasons - cell mutations (such plants are called chimeras), pathologies (for example, viral infections), etc.
In this post we will talk specifically about chimeras - since they are very valued in the world of house plants.
Chimeras are plants whose tissues consist of genetically different cells. Some of the cells have mutated, lost the ability to synthesize chlorophyll (pigment that makes a plant green) and became a different color. Cell mutations can occur spontaneously or can be caused by humans (for example, treatment with chemical mutagens).
Chimeras are often unstable plants and require special care so as not to lose their variegation. Chimeras are most often propagated vegetatively.
But this is a separate topic. I will write another post about the propogation and care of variegated plants.
