Custom-built indoor play structure designed and fabricated with a focus on strength, safety, and clean architectural integration.
The main frame and loft are constructed from solid timber sections, securely anchored to the surrounding structure to handle dynamic loads from climbing, swinging, and impact. Special attention was given to load distribution and rigidity to ensure long-term durability under active use.
The upper level features precisely installed vertical slats, evenly spaced and finished to provide both safety and a clean visual rhythm. A reinforced rope net enclosure is integrated into the loft opening, with secure anchor points designed to withstand continuous tension and movement.
The underside of the platform incorporates a custom monkey bar system, mounted with reinforced fixing points to support body weight and dynamic motion. Accurate alignment and spacing were critical to ensure usability and structural reliability.
A climbing wall panel was installed using embedded fixing hardware, allowing for secure attachment of holds while maintaining a clean surface finish. The ladder access is firmly tied into the structure, providing stable and safe movement between levels.
All components were carefully sanded and finished, with rounded edges and smooth surfaces to ensure safety in a high-contact environment.
This project combines structural carpentry, precise detailing, and practical safety considerations—built not just to look good, but to perform reliably in everyday use.

1. Surface Preparation:
Framing and Stud Work:
Metal or wooden studs were fixed vertically at specific intervals (typically 16 to 24 inches).
Horizontal supports (noggings) were installed for rigidity.
Gypsum Board Installation:
Standard gypsum boards were cut and fixed to the framing with screws at appropriate intervals.
Joint gaps between boards were carefully maintained to avoid misalignments.
Corner beads were installed at external edges for protection and a sharp finish.
2. Joint Treatment and Patching:
Taping and Filling Joints:
Paper or mesh joint tape was applied over the seams.
First coat of joint compound (putty) was applied over taped joints and screw heads.
Additional coats of joint compound were applied after sanding each coat, ensuring a smooth surface.
Sanding:
The entire surface, including joint areas, was sanded to achieve a uniform finish.
3. Primer Application:
A primer coat was applied to seal the gypsum surface and provide better adhesion for the paint.
Ensured no imperfections (like cracks or bumps) were visible after priming.
4. Painting:
First Coat:
A base coat of emulsion or acrylic paint was applied evenly using rollers or brushes.
