Of course it was more fun building than it was writing about building, and the said presentation of the process was forgotten. However...the guitars are finished and turned out real Darlings...

On the bench... Following up on the feedback on the Darling model, I now have five of them on the bench. Three that will be arch tops. A black one with alternative checkerboard binding, a deep red one with herringbone purfling (and white binding), and one natural mahogany with curly koa binding. Thats the plan, anyway. However, should anyone be interested in buying one of these and have other wishes, there is time for customization... And if so, just shout... The two flattops are set to be blondies with flamed maple binding, but same thing there for those that long for a splendid parlor electric...SHOUT 🤩

So many hours of work and so little sleep...to get everything ready for FUZZ Guitar Show 2019. And just like that, it's over...And I can't help but to feel somewhat empty. I want to sincerely thank everyone who visited my stand and showed so much interest, and most of all... my hat off to all you splendid guitar players who showed me what these guitars are really capable of. Lots of short videos uploaded to Youtube... And here is a quick taste...

And not least...the two first of a new model named "Sneddy", given the offset contour. The main inspiration regarding this guitars´ design comes from an old hollow body Klira I once had. Before I sold that I drew the outline on a piece of paper, and though much is changed, that´s where this guitar started. On a guitar show in Berlin a couple of years back I played a T-style guitar, but with a 665 mm scale length and I fell in love with the crisp sound that it produced. I´ve wanted to build one since, and why not take that scale length to this new offset guitar model... The materials are pretty straight forward: Alder body with a maple neck. Gotoh tuners and bridge, and the pickups are built by a small company in Croatia, Q pickups. Both guitars feature a single coli bridge pickup with coil tap function, so a regular output and then a hot one. The humbucker in the white guitar is based off of the Dry Z pickup used in high end japanese guitars in the early 80´s. The other neck pickup is a jazzmaster pup built in a P90 cover. Sounds awesome and has coil tap too...

Two "Idgie" models. Flat tops this time. And an archtop "Little Idgie". All have bodies from swamp ash with maple tops and spanish cedar necks with maple fretboards. 22 frets and 635 mm scale length (25 inches). Tuners are Gotoh on all three. The "Idgies" feature bridge and pickup from Rockinger in Germany and they have a three way (on/on/on) mini toggle, providing the option of full humbucker, series and parallel. "Little Idgie" has a Gotoh Nashville tune-o-matic bridge and string through construction. No controls on this one. String to pickup to output jack...thats it. The pickup is a Lundgren Vintage P90. I put a neck pickup in to have a lower output and gain some clarity, but this guitar is a wildcat. Looking for the guitar equivalent to a V8 engine? And with no brakes...

To make it more understandable I think I´ll better present the gits in a few posts rather than one long one. First...the "Darlings". Three "Darling" models. The hollow body was made in 2016 and has been to the show once already. You can read about it in a post further down, if interested. The other two I built as Christmas gifts for my kids. The were a fun build. They are solid bodys with single cutaway and they feature neck through construction (khaya neck) with body "wings" made from alder. Indian rosewood fretboards and maple on top of the headstock. Tuners are Kluson Deluxe and the pickups Tonerider Vintage P90. They have aluminum junior bridge, and what cooler than red eyed skull k***s for two kids on their first guitars...😎

Hi. It´s about time... for posting something again, I mean. I have had the intention of posting numerous pictures and sharing loads of thoughts on the ongoing builds in my workshop (which is just as much at my kitchen table at late hours as it is in the actually shop)... However, building has been too fun and I´ve let it take all of the time from posting about it. Now, seven new guitars are complete and ready to go to Gothenburg in may to be displayed at the FUZZ guitar show. I thought I´d show the lineup here... and now that I am done and I have a couple of weeks "off" before the show I´ll get to post some pictures and comments of the work that´s resulted in these guitars. For those who might be interested. Well, here comes a presentation of the new guitars... (along with one of the older ones, but that gets to go too...) And also...there are videos of all new guitars on Youtube (playing is bad, but you´ll get the gist )😁

Hi there. A couple of years back, influenced by the obvious popularity of small bodied acoustic guitars, I started drawing this model and built the two first to be ready for the Fuzz Guitar Show in Gothenburg. They became very popular. "Darling" is the name of this guitar, and it is... in many aspects. For me, creating this one has meant the possibility to blend my love for parlor acoustics, dirty old (and mostly cheap) blues guitars and hollow body electrics.

The two in the pictures have bodies and necks made from Spanish Cedar along with Ebony fretboards and bridges. One has a top made of Sapele, the other is made from Indian Rosewood.

Tuners are Stewmac vintage replacement (aged) and pickups are Lundgren vintage P-90:s. CTS potentiometers and PIO cap. String through construction as you can see. 2 way trussrod (although the necks are quite hefty) and the scale length is
610 mm (24 inches).

A video clip showing the Rosewood one will be recorded tomorrow and posted during saturday (along with one of the white "Idgie" model).

Have a nice evening / Markus
