Noisy is one of the community cats I care for every night. He isn't from Ong's Kampong, but from another block where his dedicated feeder sadly passed away last year. Since then, I've taken over the night feeding for him.

His name is Noisy because... well, he lives up to it! He has the loudest, most energetic meow, and is an incredibly friendly and affectionate boy.

A few days ago, his morning feeder noticed that he was limping. When I went for the night feed, he was still limping slightly. At first, we hoped it was just a sprain, especially since he's always jumping onto and perching on top of cars.

When his limp didn't improve after several days, we decided not to wait any longer. He was trapped and brought to the vet yesterday.

Thankfully, his X-rays showed no fractures, which was a huge relief. However, Dr. Clara found that his elbow was swollen and discovered a small scratch wound, likely from a cat fight, which has become infected. She also noted some stiffness in his hips, but thankfully it isn't a major concern at the moment.

The good news is that Noisy's temperature is normal and he is eating well. The vet has advised that he be kept indoors so he can be closely monitored to ensure his condition improves and doesn't worsen. He has now been discharged and is staying with a boarder for the next 1–2 weeks while he recovers.

We are appealing for $800 to help cover Noisy's veterinary expenses, as well as his boarding, transportation, and follow-up care.

If you would like to help this sweet, noisy little boy get back on his feet, you can PayNow 98232002 and indicate "For Noisy" in the reference.

Every contribution, no matter the amount, means so much to Noisy and to all of us who care for him.

Thank you for your kindness, generosity, and for giving community cats like Noisy a chance to heal. ❤️

August Food Appeal for Ong's Kampong, the Mafias & Mimi 🐾

It's time for our monthly food appeal again.

This month, I'm hoping to raise $1,000 to help feed the cats throughout August.

Recently, my family has been going through an unexpected situation. My husband who had been helping me with a portion of the cats' food expenses is no longer able to do so, so I'm now trying my best to manage everything on my own.

At the same time, I've also been asked to reduce my work hours after taking many days off earlier this year while caring for Mimi during his hospital stay. It has affected my income, but I will continue doing everything I can to make sure the cats are fed.

Some days have been more challenging than others, so I've been taking a day off every week. However, please don't worry—the cats are still fully cared for. Whenever I'm unable to make my usual rounds, Uncle and my friend will help to feed them with food i passed them.

Because of your kindness, we were able to close Snowy's dental fundraising, and I'm incredibly grateful for every bit of support you've given us. I hope you'll continue walking this journey with us by helping to keep everyone's bowls full this month.

If you'd like to support August's food fund, you may PayNow to 98232002 and indicate "August" in the reference.

Every contribution, no matter the amount, makes a real difference.

Thank you so much for always looking out for Ong's Kampong, the Mafias, and Mimi. ❤️🐱

Thank you everyone.. our July appeal is finally closed with all your help. Truly from my heart.. thank you everyone.

Hi everyone! It's Ong's Kampong checking in. We hope everyone had a good June. ❤️

We're reaching out once again for our July food fund. Our target this month is $800 to keep everyone fed.

The past few weeks have been challenging. Due to taking extended time off earlier this year to care for Mimi during her hospitalisation, I've unfortunately lost my job. At the same time, there have been some unexpected family matters that have made things even harder.

The cats are still being fed every single day. I've been sharing my own cat food with them, while Uncle continues helping with the morning feeds and my friend (ShyShy Papa) helps at night whenever he can. I'm also incredibly grateful to friends who have stepped in to give me an occasional break. Despite everything, I still try to do most of the feeding myself because these little ones depend on us.

On top of the daily food expenses, Snowy will be needing his dental surgery soon, and Ger is due for a follow-up check for her recent weight loss. It's been a difficult period, and I'd really appreciate any help we can get this month.

If you'd like to support our July food fund, you can PayNow to 98232002 and indicate "July" in the reference.

If you'd prefer to donate cat food instead, feel free to WhatsApp us for the drop-off address.

Every donation, no matter the amount, goes directly towards caring for the cats. Thank you for always supporting Ong's Kampong and helping us continue looking after them. We truly couldn't do this without you. ❤️

Snowy Needs Your Help ❤️

Many of you may remember Snowy, one of the community cats I've been caring for.

Last year, we rescued him from the streets after noticing he was constantly drooling and losing fur on his back. We also discovered that someone had been scattering onion skins near where he stayed and feeding him fish bones.

After being rescued, Snowy turns out to be FIV+. Since then, he's been staying at a boarding facility, with his boarding fees paid entirely out of our own pockets.

In March this year, Snowy started drooling again. We brought him to Atlas Vet, where the vet found an ulcer on his tongue and advised us to monitor it. Thankfully, the drooling stopped after a while.

Unfortunately, last week the drooling returned, and this time it was much worse.

Yesterday, Snowy went back to the vet. Dr. Eugenia found multiple painful ulcers throughout his mouth. She discussed several treatment options with us:

• A numbing mouth rinse before meals, which would only help with eating but not treat the ulcers.
• A diet change, which the clinic has found to have little success.
• Steroids, which may provide temporary relief but are unlikely to stop the ulcers from recurring.

The best long-term option is a full-mouth dental extraction, which will remove the source of his chronic pain and give him the best chance at a comfortable life.

The estimated cost is $2,200–$3,100.

Because of my current personal circumstances, I'm unfortunately unable to cover this expense on my own. If you're able to help Snowy in any way, no matter how small, it would mean the world to him.

PayNow: 98232002

Snowy's dental surgery has been scheduled for 23 July and will be performed by Dr. Chan.

Thank you for reading, for sharing this post, and for helping Snowy get the pain-free life he deserves. ❤️

Lil update on mimi.
It's been about 2 weeks since his discharge.

The diarrhea have stopped. He's eating well. We found out he's able to p*e on his own. (Great news because he hates being expressed by us😂)

However we need to stimulate him like a kitten for him to p*e. And trust me it's quite therapeutic to do it and see him p*e. Ok sorry. I might be abit... overly stressed.😅

We have "revamped" is living space by putting non slip mat all over. A kind neighbour have ordered wheels for him. We have a kind lady whom got him 450 p*e pads. A drag bag prepared for him.

And another 3 people wanting to help me and his Japanese feeder care for him.

So all is well...! We will be updating about this silly boy over here occasionally. And he's loved.

Thank you everyone whom helped pray for him, donate for him, or share his story. We are really thankful! 🩷🧡❤️💛💚💙🩵💜🤎🖤🩶🤍

JUNE APPEAL IS CLOSED THANKS EVERYONE

June is here, and all of us at Ong's Kampong — including the little Mafia Kids — would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who has helped us care for Mimi and keep the rest of the gang fed, safe, and comfortable.😺😺😺

As many of you know, Mimi's needs have increased significantly. Between p*e pads, regular vet reviews, and his special veterinary diet, the monthly costs continue to add up.

For June, we're hoping to raise $800 to help cover these essentials.💛

And of course, there are still the residents of Ong's Kampong and the silly Mafia Kids to care for every day. It's exhausting at times, but giving up on them is never an option.🩵

This month will also be the time to purchase prescription food from the clinic, so we're reaching out once again for a little help from our village.

If you'd like to support the June care fund:
PayNow: 98232002

(Please indicate "June" in the reference)
If you'd prefer to contribute food or supplies, please send me a PM for collection or drop-off details.
From Mimi, Ger, the Mafia Kids, everyone at Ong's Kampong, and myself — thank you for being part of their journey and helping us continue to care for them. ❤️

MIMI NEEDS HELP

We are looking for someone that stays around tiong bahru / bukit ho swee area that has experience expressing cat's bladder to help us with expressing mimi's bladder.

It's not a everyday thing but only on Sundays or if his morning feeder or i am unable to do it due to work commitments or traveling.

Mimi will be staying with auntie whom is 83 yrs old so it's too hard for her to bend or learn to express his bladder.

We are committed to helping him live his best life as a paralysed cat but occasionally we might need our own break too... as both his morning feeder and I don't stay nearby and needs to work so we are trying to get some help.

We will be willing to pay a token sum but you need to be experienced or know how to do it... please dm or WhatsApp 98232002 to discuss if you or anyone know you is able to help this poor boy.

Mimi is currently back in the vet for boarding as his morning feeder is overseas. and dr have asked to repeat a basic blood test to check on his liver and etc. Test results have return and all is good..! He will be back on Tuesday!

P.s We will be keeping mimi's appeal. Because he will likely need a constantly supply of prescription diet and endless p*epad..

A kind neighbour have ordered a wheely for him and we will update as he gets to try it on. I've also ordered a drag bag for him to help him move around.

We will be removing the cage and making the area suitable for him soon. Thanks for helping mimi.

Thank you everyone for helping this silly boy once again...

He seems able to p*e by himself but we are still going up twice a day to feed and help clean him. We will look at getting wheelies for him slowly. Thank you everyone once again..

We are still waiting for his p**p to harden if not we will bring him back to see the vet.

New photos uploaded.

Mimi and auntie urgently need help again… 💔

22 may - mimi the flower boy (very popular with the vet nurses) have been discharged. We will slowly be changing auntie house to make it more suitable for him.

19th may - mimi have started eating on his own yesterday so doctor hold back on the decision to put the feeding tube. I was informed he can be discharged soon. He needs to have his p*e expressed 2-3 times daily which his j*p feeder and me will help auntie since she's too old for it. Mimi will stay with her after discharge. If his j*p feeder is not in singapore we will board him with an experienced boarder.

We are still very far from the 2.5k estimated bill.

Our strong mimi have survived 2 health scares within 2 months... so please consider helping him or sharing his story. Thank you.

To help with mimi bill please paynow to 98232002 and state for mimi. Any extra will go to his reviews or if we are considering acupuncture for him next. Thank you everyone.

16th may - visited mi today. He is still not eating. Doctor think its to stress. They will put feeding tube tomorrow if still refuses to eat overnight. I'll bring more food for him tomorrow morning.

On the night of 13 May, I fed Mimi his supper as usual before bringing him upstairs to spend the night with auntie.

Early morning on 14 May, auntie brought him downstairs for his usual p*e/poo routine and to spend time with the other aunties downstairs. At that time, Mimi was still walking normally and seemed perfectly fine.

Around 9am, his Japanese feeder arrived and found Mimi inside the drain, unable to move his hind legs. Auntie was sitting nearby, only about 20m away. Everything happened so suddenly.

He was brought back upstairs immediately. Throughout the day, Mimi showed very little feeling in his hind legs.

Today, we managed to send him to the vet. X-rays thankfully did not show fractures or broken bones, but his bladder was enlarged and the vet had to help express his urine. There was also some blood present in his p*e. At this point, we still do not know the exact cause of his paralysis.

The vet mentioned several possible causes, including infection, spinal trauma, FIP, or other neurological conditions. He is currently being treated for a possible urinary infection while further observation continues.

Because there were no visible external wounds, we cannot be sure what happened. One painful possibility is that he may have been hurt during the short period when auntie was distracted talking nearby. What makes this harder is that another community cat in the same area was suddenly found limping just one day earlier. Thankfully, that cat later recovered, but the incidents happening so close together still left many of us worried and shaken.

No matter what happens next, Mimi will not be abandoned.

His Japanese feeder, another auntie, and I will continue caring for him together. We are prepared to learn how to express his bladder and help auntie care for him long term if needed. We have seen many special-needs and paralysed cats continue to live happy, loved lives.

Mimi is deeply loved. He deserves a chance to fight through this.

Auntie has been blaming herself non-stop and is extremely heartbroken. We hope to ease some of her burden and continue giving Mimi the care he needs.

If you are able to help with his medical expenses, please consider supporting Mimi.

PayNow: 98232002(Please indicate “For Mimi”)

Any amount, no matter how small, truly helps.Thank you for caring about Mimi and auntie. 🙏

May appeal is closed !!! Thank you everyone for your help!!!!! Sorry have been sick for the past few days...!

Thanks to a kind donor we will now just need to raise $500 for the month of may! 👏👏👏

----------------

We’re putting together our May feeding fund and aiming to raise $700. 😸😸😸

Right now, about 20–25 cats are being fed daily, twice a day. My friend and an elderly uncle (70 years old, no longer working) help during the day, and I handle the night feeding. The number of cats can vary, as some seem to be roaming in and out.

To make sure they all get proper meals and do not wander out to the roads, I’ve been sharing the cost and food with them so the cats can stay healthy and cared for. 💛💛💛

Mimi whom have just been to the vet will also need special diet for his sensitive stomach.

If you’d like to support their meals this month, you can contribute via PayNow to 98232002.🙏🙏🙏

If you prefer to donate food instead, feel free to message me on WhatsApp to arrange pickup or drop-off.

Thank you for helping us look after them
