🌳 Last week, we put theory into practice! 📝

On 4–5 August, we conducted the SS724 Formative Pruning Principles and Techniques Workshop at Woodleigh, the first hands-on training session since the standard's official launch.

✂️ If you've been following along, you'll know that SS724 sets out best practices for tree pruning, custom-built for our tropical urban landscape. But a standard is only as good as the people who implement it, and these two days were all about turning those guidelines into real-world skills.

🌱 From understanding branching architecture to making precise, structurally-sound cuts, participants got down to work with the very principles that will shape Singapore's City in Nature. It’s not just about having a standard, but about driving adoption through training. This workshop is exactly that: equipping our arboriculture community with the know-how to raise tree care quality across the board.

🌳 A big thank you to everyone who joined the SS724 Formative Pruning Principles and Techniques Workshop.

Following the launch of SS 724 – Code of Practice for Pruning of Trees in Tropical Urban Landscapes, co-led and developed by LIAS and NParks, the workshop provided participants with practical insights into the intent, key requirements, and implementation of Singapore's first national standard for tree pruning.

A special thank you to our trainers and participants for making the session engaging through active discussions and knowledge sharing. Together, we are strengthening industry capabilities and promoting consistent best practices in tree management across Singapore.
