Penthouse - Three Towers
Bratislava (details)
The penthouse is located in the Three Towers high-rise complex on Bajkalská Street in the wider centre of Bratislava, offering panoramic views of the city and the Lower Carpathian hills.
The main requirement from the clients was to create an impressive interior that would match the apartment's highly attractive position within the building. With the exception of two pieces of high-quality oak furniture from the Javorina furniture company, the original interior was completely removed.
The primary design goal was the formal unification of the originally separate spaces—the kitchen, dining area, and seating zone—into an airy and harmonious whole. This unifying effect is further supported by the use of rubber flooring throughout and a reduced palette of high-quality materials. The seating arrangement is oriented toward two sides, subtly indicating a separation of the relaxation area from the dining area without creating undesirable spatial fragmentation.
The shelving and cabinet units are finished in natural oak veneer with recessed solid oak lip handles. This same surface treatment is applied to the new cladding at the level of the glazed wall parapet along the entire length of the room. The original parapet radiators are integrated into these units; warm air circulation is ensured by a continuous ventilation gap above the floor and ventilation slats along the upper edge.
The cantilevered breakfast counter, the worktop, and the backsplash wall cladding are made from Lapitec reconstituted stone.
The neutral colour scheme is complemented by high-quality furniture from established local and European suppliers, such as Nesia (seating), Javorina (conference table and TV console), and Viccarbe (dining table).
For the lighting of the seating and dining zones, surface-mounted and suspended versions of the Flat lamp by Vibia were used.
