Our thoughts, prayers, and unwavering support remain with Nepal as the nation undertakes the difficult journey of recovery and renewal.

The International Federation of Asian and Western Pacific Contractors’ Associations (IFAWPCA) conveys its deepest sorrow and solidarity with the people of Nepal in the wake of the devastating flash floods that struck on 26 August 2026.

This calamity has claimed precious lives, displaced families, and caused extensive damage to homes, infrastructure, and livelihoods. We mourn with the bereaved families and extend our heartfelt prayers for those injured, missing, and struggling to recover from the immense losses brought by this disaster.

Natural disasters remind us of the fragility of human life and the urgent need to strengthen resilience in our communities. The floods in Nepal underscore the importance of sustainable infrastructure, disaster preparedness, and regional cooperation in mitigating the impact of such tragedies.

As a federation representing contractors and builders across Asia and the Western Pacific, IFAWPCA stands firmly with our member associations Federation of Contractors’ Association of Nepal (FCAN) during this time of grief and recovery. We recognize the courage and determination of the Nepali people and reaffirm our commitment to supporting them through collaborative initiatives, technical expertise, and mobilization of resources aimed at rebuilding and restoring hope.

We call upon our regional network of associations and partners to extend compassion and assistance to Nepal. In unity, we can help heal communities, restore livelihoods, and rebuild infrastructure that is not only stronger but also more resilient against future challenges.

In moments of profound loss, solidarity becomes our greatest strength. Let us stand together, guided by empathy and responsibility, to ensure that the people of Nepal feel the support of the entire IFAWPCA family.

Mr. Sangvorn Lipatapanlop, President of the International Federation of Asian and Western Pacific Contractors’ Associations (IFAWPCA), led the Executive Committee of the Thai Contractors Association under H.M. the King’s Patronage to meet with Mr. Darinton Paul, the Chairman of the National Construction Association of Sri Lanka (NCASL) and his delegation.

The purpose of the meeting was to extend an invitation to members of The National Construction Association of Sri Lanka (NCASL) to participate in the 48th IFAWPCA Convention, which will be hosted by Thailand from 30 November to 4 December 2026 at the Dusit Thani Hotel, Bangkok.
