β An area of disturbance (AL97) located in the central tropical Atlantic, about midway between the Cabo Verde islands and the Lesser Antilles, has been tagged with a 90% chance for cyclone development over the next 48 hours and a 90% chance through the next seven days. The forecast track is towards the west-northwest to northwest, and it poses no direct threat to Trinidad and Tobago. Please see Official Statement #2 issued 9:56 a.m. today.
Saturday (16th)
π¦ Fair and sunny day. A low chance (20%) for an isolated afternoon heavy shower near hilly areas. Fair evening and night. Winds mainly from the east-northeast to east-southeast.
Sunday (17th)

Monday (18th)

A low chance (30%) for the development of an isolated heavy shower or thunderstorm, mainly over the Gulf of Paria, western Trinidad, and near hilly areas, during the late morning to afternoon. Some small patches of low level cloud give the possibility for brief, light showers during the evening and night, otherwise fair. Winds generally between east and southeast.

π¦A relatively slight increase in atmospheric moisture, together with surface heating and local dynamics, increases the probability (30%-40%) for the development of an isolated heavy shower or a thunderstorm during the afternoon, favouring hilly areas. Mostly fair evening and night. Winds generally between east and southeast.

π¦οΈWith the atmosphere showing a relatively slight increase in surface moisture, together with surface heating and local dynamics, there is an enhanced probability (40%) for the development of a light or moderate shower and an isolated heavy or thunderstorm, mainly during the late morning to afternoon, favouring hilly areas and western Trinidad. Mostly fair evening and night. Winds generally between east and southeast.
