In 2011 we began offering custom stick built homes and in 2013 we became Rock Hollow Cedar Log Homes. Brad Tomlin Construction was established in 2005 as a dealer, designer, and builder of high quality Cedar Log Homes. We currently have offices stationed in Indiana and Kentucky but are willing to assist in the design and delivery of your log home anywhere in America. Cedar produces a chemical that

makes it naturally resistant to rot and insects. Northern White Cedar also has the highest R-Value of any wood species used in log homes. The R-Value is used to measure the energy efficiency of your home. The higher the R-Value, the easier it is to heat your home. Cedar has less moisture than pine, allowing logs to air dry in a shorter period of time. This results in fewer cracks and checks that are typical in kiln dried pine logs. Untreated pine logs in contact with ground commonly last 3 to 7 years. Untreated cedar can last up to 50 to 60 years or more, although we do recommend a quality sealer, the durability of cedar makes for a more maintenance friendly log home.
