Natural Resources & Heavy Equipment Specialist
Who Eden Hills Is
Eden Hills Land Management is a Christian-owned rural property management and land improvement company specializing in pond construction and renovation, habitat management, land clearing, excavation, and related property improvement projects.
Our work is varied, hands-on, and primarily outdoors. We take pride in doing excellent work, taking care of our customers and their property, and operating with integrity.
Who We're Looking For
We're looking for a unique combination: a natural resources professional who is also comfortable with heavy equipment, trucks, trailers, chainsaws, and hands-on field work.
We don't expect someone to walk in knowing everything. Character, a solid base skill set, and a trainable mindset matter more to us than checking every box. We want someone who is eager to learn, humble enough to admit what they don't know, and capable of becoming highly independent.
The right person must be trustworthy and self-motivated. Working alone and largely unsupervised will be a regular part of this position.
This role will begin as intermittent/part-time with the goal of developing the right person into a full-time employee and eventually a trusted, right-hand member of Eden Hills.
Position Description
Pond construction will be a major focus of this position, with excavators, skid steers/compact track loaders, and dozers being regular parts of the job.
Other work will include:
- Pond construction, renovation, excavation, and earthmoving
- Habitat and wildlife management projects
- Forestry, land clearing, and chainsaw work
- Herbicide application and invasive species control
- Loading, securing, and hauling equipment
- Trail, drainage, demolition, and property improvement projects
- Basic equipment maintenance and inspections
- Independent field work with limited supervision
Qualifications
Required:
- Associate Degree or higher in Wildlife Management, Forestry, Fisheries, Natural Resources, Conservation, or a closely related field
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
- Basic heavy equipment experience and mechanical aptitude
- Experience driving trucks and pulling trailers
- Chainsaw competency
- Working knowledge of tree, shrub, and forb identification
- Ability to work safely and independently
- Dependable, trustworthy, teachable, and willing to learn
Preferred, but not required:
- CDL or willingness to obtain one
- Excavation, dozer, or pond construction experience
- Equipment hauling experience
- Habitat management experience
- Herbicide application experience
We are willing to invest in training the right person, including CDL certification. Herbicide licensing is not required; employees can perform applicable work under company supervision and licensing.
Pay & Benefits
Starting pay: 20–28/hour based on experience and qualifications.
Position begins as intermittent/part-time with the opportunity to grow into a full-time role.
Full benefits available upon transition to full-time employment.
