Sunshine season is right around the corner, and we’re getting ready for a busy season. Oregon weather is keeping us on our toes with sun one minute and rain the next so we’ve been squeezing in little projects whenever we can.

There are moments in life that feel like they come full circle… and this is one of them.

Just a couple years ago, we used to sit in the grandstands at Willamette Speedway, just dreaming. Dreaming about building something of our own and about what it would be like to have our name up on a sign out there.

It felt so far away.

Fast forward to today… and not only do we have our business, but we just finished painting part of the speedway—the very place where those dreams first started. And now, our name is going to be up there.

I didn’t do the painting myself—but I’ve had a front row seat to Joe’s hard work, the long days, and the heart that went into every moment. Watching this come together has been amazing.

This one is more than just a job. It’s a reminder that those “what if” conversations in the stands can turn into reality if you keep showing up and believing in it.

So excited for what’s ahead.

POV: The paperwork wife left the office and entered her manual labor era!

Today at Willamette Speedway I traded my normal job (paperwork, emails, and pretending I know what QuickBooks is doing) for pressure washing. Apparently “helping the business” now includes actual labor.

We were both out there pressure washing before the painting starts, and I have to admit… he’s a pretty great boss. Lots of encouragement like:
“Looks good!”
“You’re doing awesome!”
“Here, let me move that for you.”

Honestly 10/10 management. Great hype man, excellent heavy-thing mover, and very supportive of the employee who clearly belongs behind a desk.

HR (also me) will still be reviewing this sudden job description change.
