Would have finished it today had the rain, which we desperately need, hadn't set in. Story. Had delivery scheduled for Tuesday last week. Showed up and started. Took the steps down and dug all the wholes for the footers. Was done by noon. My delivery window was 8-12. By 12:30pm i call. "OH, your order was pushed out 6 days". Now I'm upset. I talked and they said they had everything in stock and would start pulling it. I said I'd be there Wednesday morning to grab it. I'm there to grab it....no one pulled any of it. Now I'm pi**ed. They manager comes down, looks at the order and says "i can have it to you tomorrow". I said as long as i can take the concrete now. They agree. So I go and pour the 8 footers. The next day...Thursday. materials finally show up at 12:38pm. They didn't have the 8 post bases i needed....1st things I needed. Only 2. So I cut all my materials and prep them. I get back Friday morning and frame it out. I would jave had it done by now had the Blue Box store not screwed this delivery 3 times. But its almost done. I came back to this because the manager at the solid foundation company I was project manager at, out of nowhere came at me telling me I was a failure at that job. I wasn't even working 40hrs a week at all. And all these failures shows that I'm not a strong leader and maybe this job isn't for me. I am so glad I found that out from them. Because I came out here and in 2.5 weeks knocked out 2 awesome projects. And did fantastic at this job....especially when I found out how much that big GC Licensed company was over charging...unreal. I love what I do. This customer said it they best...."I'm not working, I'm creating". And that is the only way to describe why I love doing this. I am creating something for people to love and live with.
