Outside corner return to skirt-board with ranch base, scribed and primed to receive the profile of the new stair nosing.

We scribed these skirt boards to capture the LVP flooring and routed a groove into the sub-floor stair tread to nest the profile of the nosing. You can see the steeper angle of the original stringer, we had to bring the lower floor level up ≈3/4” to make it all correct; this will be a much more comfortable transition.

These are stairs that we built for the new stage door at Mary Jane’s bar and event venue, coming soon to Main St. in Ames. We designed them with a French cleat so that the stairs may be swapped to accommodate a ramp in the future. We are grateful for the opportunity to contribute to this community space!
