🐝 Miner bees may look alarming when they suddenly appear in your yard each spring, but they’re actually one of nature’s beneficial pollinators. These solitary bees help pollinate flowers, gardens, and trees while rarely ever stinging.

The good news? Their activity is short-lived. Most miner bees are only active for a few weeks in the spring before naturally disappearing on their own. In many cases, treatment isn’t necessary — simply allowing them time to complete their life cycle is often the best approach.

A healthy pollinator population plays an important role in our environment, and not every bee in the yard is a pest problem! 🌼🐝

Another sick raccoon call. Something we always hate coming across. He’s been hanging around the last couple of days becoming a concern for this customer with a dog.

Did you know birds can still enter your vent even with a standard vent cover? Starlings especially are notorious for entering vents to nest. With the installation of a magnetic vent cover, no birds or wildlife are able to enter.

🐝 Spring Bald-Faced Hornet Fact:
In spring, a single overwintered queen starts the entire nest by herself. She builds a small paper nest, lays the first eggs, and cares for the young until worker hornets hatch and take over expanding the colony. By late summer, a nest can contain hundreds of hornets. PMBR.05274

Today we received a call about a tree that was cut down overhanging a house making the entry point inaccessible to the raccoon. Customer then started hearing noises. We checked the attic and found these kitts nesting in this bin. They will be placed outside in a warming box and monitored by camera so their mother can move them to a new den site.

Sometimes we have to manually retrieve juvenile raccoons from walls. Eviction paste did not work but we also didn’t find a mother or any other young during our inspection meaning this raccoon has likely been in this wall alone for the past couple days.
