We know it’s been quiet here at 7C Farm lately, and we’d like to take a moment to share why.
Long before there was a 7C Farm, there was 4C Farm.
Back in 1993, Johnny Chamness—our dad, our Popi, and the heart behind it all—started the original family farm. He poured countless hours into building something that wasn’t just about farming. It was about faith, family, hard work, and leaving something meaningful for the generations that followed.
As the years passed, that first-generation farm came to an end. But the dream never did.
When our family decided to start again, we knew this new chapter wouldn’t be complete without including the two people who started it all. That’s how 7C Farm was born—our family of seven: my wife, our three children, Mom, Dad, and me. We couldn’t imagine carrying on the dream without the matriarch and patriarch of the original farm beside us.
The past several months have been some of the hardest our family has ever faced. As Dad battled multiple cancers, social media simply wasn’t where our hearts were. We stepped away because family comes first, and every moment we had with him was precious.
On July 7, 2026, our original founder, Johnny Chamness, left this world and entered the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
While our hearts are broken, we also have hope. We know he is completely healed and finally home—the place he spent his life preparing for and the Savior he faithfully served.
Dad was the one who started the dream. He was the one who led us, taught us, encouraged us, and showed us what it meant to honor God through everything we do. Somewhere along the way, his dream became our dream.
The farm won’t be the same without him. We won’t be able to ask for his advice, hear his stories, or laugh at another one of his famous sayings. But every fence we build, every animal we care for, every seed we plant, and every memory we make will carry a piece of him.
One of our favorite “Popi-isms” has become the unofficial motto of 7C Farm:
“It’s kinda peaceful around here.”
At first, those words described the quiet beauty of the farm he loved so much. Today, they mean even more. They remind us to slow down, take in God’s creation, cherish our family, and find peace even in the middle of grief.
We promise to continue the dream he started. We’ll honor him the same way he lived his life—with faith first, family always, and a willingness to work hard. We pray that everything we do at 7C Farm points people to God, just as Dad’s life did.
Thank you to everyone who has prayed for our family, checked on us, and loved us through these difficult months. Your kindness has meant more than you’ll ever know.
We’re not moving on—we’re moving forward, carrying Popi with us every step of the way.
Because no matter what tomorrow brings…
“It’s kinda peaceful around here.” ❤️
