Some moments seem so real, solid, as if I am unable to move through them. However, with the help from friends, family, therapy, recovery and art I have found myself on the other side. Art is a way for me to transcend my feelings into their own life and rid me of some of the weight they can possess. Through color, shapes, textures, and mixed media I am able to express my life. Most pieces take hour
s, days until I feel they are finished. Some lay untouched for months, returning to them with the need to express more in depth what I was feeling. Hoping I have exerted all that embodies the current state of my life, a painting can be “done” or at least rest for a while. I have the intentions of leaving my homeland, Humboldt County, someday to pursue more knowledge of art through school. Currently my life consists of kickboxing, therapy, friends, family, traveling, and working as a barista. I am on an endless journey of searching for acceptance, peace, and clarity. So far all I seem to have found is progress. Thank you for taking your time to dive into a huge part of my life.
