We love doing this employee of the month award! It gives us an opportunity to recognize people in front of the whole team, outside of just a “thank you”.
Our most recent recipient is Obdulio, or “Lulo” as all of us call him. He’s been with Avanza from very near the start. There is so much to say about this guy.
A lot of managers and homeowners have heard our Noe say that he gets yelled at by our guys when they have to wait for materials or orders, and that they hate waiting around…. Obdulio is the main one yelling (yes at Noe). He exemplifies hard work and pushing others to work hard. For a few years, he was on Nardy's crew (Noe's wife), and their dynamic was to see who could outwork each other.
But Lulo represents our core value of “people first” all the time. While he gives everyone a hard time, he’s the first one to share food off his plate for the guy that forgot his lunch. Or teach the new guy that everyone else said is unteachable.
Our team is the best, and they know they are loved, but it’s fun getting to award individuals on them representing our core values.
