The Arp Garden Club was thrilled to welcome Smokey Bear at Arp Elementary’s Meet the Teacher Night! Families stopped by to learn about this year’s exciting National Garden Club youth contests and how creativity can help teach important lessons about conservation, wildfire prevention, and caring for our environment.
It was wonderful seeing some of last year’s winners. Their enthusiasm was so inspiring

We’ve had several people ask how the flags placed in our Flag Retirement Box at the Arp Veterans Memorial are being retired. Now you can see the process for yourself.

Come join Arp’s Royal Rangers as they conduct a flag disposal ceremony honoring our American Flags.
They will perform a respectful, faith‑centered Flag Retirement Ceremony to properly retire the worn and tattered flags donated by our community.

It’s a meaningful opportunity to witness how each flag is honored with dignity, prayer, and gratitude for the veterans it represents.

Just 13 days after opening up the Flag Retirement Disposal Box at the Arp Veterans Memorial, 33 American flags have already been dropped off.
Every one of them will receive a respectful retirement through the Royal Rangers.
Arp and our surrounding communities patriotism speaks loudly.

The Arp Garden Club ladies have been busy getting our town ready for our country’s 250th birthday, honoring both our nation and the veterans who have served it. They’ve decorated the park with handmade and hand painted patriotic decorations perfect for photos with the little ones, and added flags all around the pavilion.

The Veterans Memorial is now completed, including the beautiful walkway and benches. Natchez crepe myrtle trees have been planted and are already blooming, with flags and memorial flowers placed to show our gratitude to those who served.

Our new Flag Retirement Disposal Box has been open a little over a week and has already collected 22 worn U.S. flags. These will be turned over to the Royal Rangers for a respectful retirement ceremony, making sure each flag is honored properly. The ladies also added red, white, and blue flowers throughout the park and in the pocket garden in town, creating a beautiful tribute to our country.
