Another surprise from this 1920s home 🤯 We planned to save the door…but found there was NO proper support around the frame. No concrete threshold. No header for load distribution. 😳 So we rebuilt the entire opening and reinstalled the door the right way. Now it’ll last another 100 years.
👉 Older home? Hidden issues are common—get them checked before they get expensive.

🚩 WARNING: “No permit needed” is NOT a deal!
We repaired this home after another contractor removed a load-bearing wall.

❌ No permit
❌ No proper support
The result? The homeowner paid TWICE 💸

We rebuilt it correctly using structural plans to redistribute the home’s weight. We also got a residential interior building permit and inspections.

Your basement theatre should be loud in the room — not the whole house. 🎬

We used specialized materials and installation methods to make this theatre room truly SOUNDPROOF. Double-layers of staggered framing, double-layers insulation in the walls and ceiling, & double-layers of soundproof drywall. These details are completely invisible when the job is done — but you'll notice them every single time you crank up the speakers at 11pm and nobody in the next room hears a peep.

😱 This one was WILD! After demo (with proper abatement by Altura
Environmental Services), we found:

🚩 Reversed wiring energizing pipes + ducting
🚩 No grounding
🚩 Outdated fabric wiring—Some insurance companies won’t even cover this!

We rewired the home safely using modern methods, like wireless switches and GFCI outlets.
