For most crawl spaces, a good target is:

* 30–50% relative humidity (RH): Excellent. Low risk of mold growth and wood moisture problems.
* 50–60% RH: Acceptable, but keep an eye on it. Consistently staying under 60% is the goal.
* 60–70% RH: Elevated. Mold can begin to grow if this persists, especially on organic materials like joists and subflooring.
* Above 70% RH: High risk. Mold, wood rot, odors, and increased pest activity become much more likely.
