Brutalist inspired, custom concrete home. 2bed, 1 bath, 1000sqft on an in-fill lot near 5 points in N. AVL. Super efficient to heat and cool, w/ radiant 🔥 floors throughout. Plus large porches for a lot of extra outdoor living space.

At 74 yrs old, our client followed his dream to build and inspired our team along the way. He was the most easy going client I think of all time, which was reflected in the generally very positive atmosphere on site. Everyone enjoyed working on his home. A gem of a human and a gem of a home. If you know Tom at the produce section in Harris teeter, tell him congratulations on his cool new home.

The original design for this home was quite different, but unfortunately it was also expensive to build. and I had created what I felt was one of our best and truly collaborative works. When we had to return to the drawing table to create a plan within budget, I really handed the design project over to Felipe at that point. The real meat of this design was by his hand, and he really delivered the perfect plan for our client. Kudos!

Black bears are very frequent visitors at this recently built custom home in the Beaverdam valley of North Asheville. The area might have the highest bear population of anywhere in the county. If I were trying to mimic the coloring of our local bears on a home this would be it. All black with a bit of gold on the face. 🐻

At times appearing tucked in and modest, and other times appearing proud and grandiose, this home has a few different faces, and we like them all.
