There is a lot that can go wrong, but what if it all goes right. What if we overthink all the wins that could happen?

We were so honored to attend the opening of Food Form Function presented by in collaboration with and to be inspired by this culinary experience beyond the plate.

This experience opened during and runs until June 19th. It explores the intersection food, design, and interaction. It transforms hospitality into a series of functional food furniture installations that merge structure, movement, and service.

The best design creates a desire to participate. 💚

There’s a huge gap in public art on the upper Westside portion of the Atlanta Beltline. (see art map online) The Beltline has shown the incredible community impact that public art can have. There are stunning works along the rest of the corridor. We are ready to make this plan a reality for Atlantans on the Westside to enjoy.

This proposed installation takes an abandoned structure of Atlanta, and transforms it into a nostalgic experience for Atlantans without destroying its original likeness. Aiming for sustainability and preserving the energy of Atlanta that’s already here.

Rec Department is a multidisciplinary creative studio on Atlanta’s Westside, specializing in concept to completion installations. We translate design, engineering, craftsmanship, and technology into bold real world activations that demand attention and hold it. Play is our art form. Reality is our medium. We aim to deliver experiences that hold weight, spark connection, and make an impression. A physical space transformed into a lasting memory.

May is mental health awareness month. Mental health is often invisible. Sometimes even our own state can become invisible to ourselves when we are so busy. This month let’s break the stigma and check in on loved ones, but also check in on ourselves.

Believe in yourself 🤍

We could have taken the job working for someone else. We could have stayed as a ‘shop’ limiting our design and creativity. But, we decided not to stay “here” because we knew we were capable of more. Even if it didn’t work out, we still knew that betting on ourselves was the right choice. 🔴🔷🟩
