This is insane. 🤯
In 1968, Bob Gibson didn’t just dominate… he broke the sport.
– 22–9 record
– 1.12 ERA (lowest in modern history)
– 13 shutouts
– 28 complete games
– 268 strikeouts
Hitters that year? Completely helpless. From June 2 to July 30, Gibson made 11 starts… and gave up a grand total of 2 runs.
It was so unfair, MLB literally had to lower the mound the next season just to give hitters a chance.
