Smallwood Inc.

Smallwood Inc. For over 45 years, we’ve worked with clients to provide designs to meet their needs across the globe. We create spaces where people flourish. Not ego.

We believe that architecture has the unique ability to unleash human capacity. It can unlock the full value of materials, teams, communities, investors and the tenants who bring them to life. We are unabashedly optimists to the core. We believe in architecture because we believe in humanity. We believe that the better we design, the better society can be, and more prosperous too. A lot of things c

an get in the way. Things like inexperience, big egos, complacency, lack of leadership and poor partnership. We believe that greatness comes from great understanding, and great partnership. Smallwood helps our clients and partners unlock the full potential of their projects. We use the power of architecture to make a difference. We know how it’s done, and we know how to make things even better. Our insatiable desire to learn and innovate has led to 40 years of successful projects and partnerships across globe. We bring that global experience to every project we approach. As the demands on the built environment have changed, the role of the architect must change from that of Artist to the Collaborative Leader. We embrace this change and we inspire our clients and partners to greatness. We reveal the bountiful opportunity within every project. Build meaning Build buildings. Build relationships.

We are proud to announce that Renee Palmer, Sam Stephen, and Jack Coleman were named to the Metropolis Magazine Arch30 Atlanta cohort, representing the next generation of leadership at Smallwood.

The Arch30 program highlights the next generation of architectural leadership, bringing together top emerging professionals under 30 from leading firms across the city for collaboration, workshops, and networking opportunities.

It was an incredible opportunity to connect with some of the city’s most promising young architects and industry leaders shaping the future of design. We’re excited to see Renee, Sam, and Jack continue making an impact both within Smallwood and throughout the architecture community.

The Smallwood team enjoyed some great spring weather to cheer our hometown Atlanta Braves as they took on the Detroit Tigers!

With ballpark favorites, and even better company, it was an excellent opportunity to connect outside the office. We’re grateful for moments like these that strengthen our culture and remind us that great teamwork happens both in and out of the workplace. Go Braves!

We are incredibly proud to celebrate Di Chen on her well-deserved recognition at Kennesaw State University’s Michael J. Coles College of Business Hospitality Gala.

Di received two prestigious awards: the Champion Within Award, which honors individuals who go above and beyond to shape careers and open doors, and the Hospitality Excellence Award, in recognition of her outstanding leadership and service to the Atlanta Hospitality Alliance.

The evening served as a powerful reminder of the importance of mentorship, connection, and investing in the next generation of hospitality leaders

At Smallwood, we are grateful every day to have Di on our team. Her passion for a sustainable and people-first industry reflects the values we strive to uphold. And thank you, AHA, for the years of dedication to promoting the interests and welfare of the hospitality industry and its members. We are always honored to be involved. Congratulations again, Di!

Smallwood had a great time at the Atlanta Hospitality Alliance Spring Networking Event! It was an energizing evening of connection, conversation, and collaboration as Atlanta gears up for the upcoming FIFA World Cup 2026.

We especially enjoyed hearing from Dan Corso of the Atlanta Sports Council and Charlene Lopez of the Atlanta Convention & Visitors Bureau. They shared valuable insights about the growing excitement surrounding the World Cup and what lies ahead for the city’s hospitality and tourism landscape.

A huge thank you to our team, Di Chen, Eddie Gegham Dadalyan, Yang Lu, Dilip Muralidharan, David Chen, Cate Matthews, Zinard Freeman, Jack Coleman, and Renee Palmer, for their time, energy, and support in making the event such a success!

It was a great opportunity to unwind, share some laughs, and continue building the strong relationships that drive our collaboration every day. From friendly competition to plenty of team spirit, it was a night right up our alley.
