this is a design i did for my parent's side yard back in Greenville. It's basically an extension of a planting bed that gives a solution to a poor drainage situation. The existing area where the dry creek bed will be installed is a low spot where water usually collects during the slightest of rain events. Accumulation causes minor flooding, so to mitigate this, I extended the creek bed into a natural swale which will take the water away from the house and into the landscape. Additionally, I put in a small stone walkway so that access to the backyard is not impacted by the new plantings.
