I have lived in Decatur most of my life, but my family and I moved to Lilburn in 2002, and we love it. I currently serve the Dekalb, Gwinnett, and Fulton county areas, but if you need service outside of these areas, just ask, as I try to go wherever the Lord sends me. I did a five year apprenticeship with some of the best plumbers in the state. In that time, I did a 40-60 hour week plumbing for on

e of the largest commercial plumbing companies in the southeast, and then went to school at night, twice a week, to complete my apprenticeship. It was a demanding time in my life, but the knowledge and skills I learned have prepared me for a huge array of plumbing jobs. I am insured and am a licensed Master Plumber, unrestricted class, in the State of Georgia. I provide quality plumbing, at a fair price, billing according to actual time served and material costs. I wil be happy to provide a budget estimate for any project, and I always try to complete the job under budget.

So, due to the extreme cold, I'd like to give some updated advice on how to protect your home and business against cold weather: First, please remove any hoses from your outside faucets! This is the most common cause of burst pipes. If you have a crawlspace, please close your house vents. If you cannot, run the hot water (hot water freezes faster than cold water, it's crazy, but look it up!) on the fixture farthest from the water-heater on the main floor. Please ensure water is hot before throttling the flow. Dripping will not suffice: a pencil lead thickness is too little, a pencil thickness is too much. In extreme temperature drop (teen degrees or less), it is suggested that you run cold water as well, this time allow the fixture farthest from the water meter in your yard to flow. In all these cases I suggest you choose a fixture that drains well. I have seen bathroom flooding due to slow drains. Also, any fixture (read "especially kitchen sinks") that are on an exterior wall should be left "drizzling" to prevent freezing on both hot and cold, it is also advisable to open the cabinet doors under your sinks, so that heated air can circulate around the pipes. This is just a warning, If this had been an actual emergency, you would have been notified of a channel to dial to receive further instructions. Beep Beep Beep.
