The developer had this backyard all wrong!
They had the water flowing toward the house. The water would then overflow into the neighbors yard casing all kinds of problems. Graded, reshaped and brought in additional soil to allow the water to spread out/sheet across the area reducing erosion.
Now there is a great spot for Grandad to build a cool playset for the Grandkids. 🥰

Grading out for a sidewalk while also redirecting water away from the patio towards the dry creek bed. This dramatically reduced the amount of water flowing from the neighbors yard down this steep lawn. Was able to reshape the rest of the area to direct water away from the home.
