Carving in progress!

At one time, I wouldn’t even consider trying to carve something this detailed. Fear of failure and a poor work ethic doesn’t help. Who knew my largest spiritual lesson would come from my love for timber and the earth.

Woodworking forces you to become completely present, training the mind to stay pointed in one direction. This skill comes in handy when healing and most importantly in meditation. The ego, (chatter) in my mind held me back from experiencing what life truly had to offer. Choosing courage over fear, being guided and putting spirit first has changed my entire make up. That’s grace, a quite mind.
