Working on a nice horse barn on a beautiful farm in Aiken, SC. 40x72 with a double row of 12’ stalls down the center & 8’ concrete walk ways down each side. 12x24’ tack room in the middle. T&G wood, cupolas, sod, nice lighting are all in the plan for this one. Hunter Green w/ White trim. Will be a beauty once complete with the wood buildout.

The BarnWELL BUILT crew is finishing this small barn with storage, small tack room and a 12x24 run-in area for a couple of horses.

We are also finishing an open barn in Brunson.

A premium BarnWELL BUILT pole barn going up in Brunson, SC.

30x39x12’ (full 12’ between bays)

Some features we include that aren’t always standard on the budget pole barns you see being built throughout the Southeast:

-premium 2” square tube trusses
-8x8 CCA .80 poles (freshwater dock rated)
-poles set in WET concrete and allowed to set up before building on them
-uplift protection (rebar thru the poles in the concrete)
-our pole installation system will pass any county’s footer inspection
-2x6 fascia boards behind the gable trim, no gable trim screwed directly into the purlin ends, no wavy looking trim
-premium trim bends, not the plain flat trim with seams
-one piece gable trim
-eve trim on every build (it is often left off….why?)
-no (zero) screw misses into wood
-no screws dropped and left behind for people, animals or tires to pick up the wrong way
-meticulously built to a SC stamped engineering plan
-built true and square as if every one might be converted into an enclosed space one day

We’re putting metal on this 24x36 horse barn in Windsor / Aiken area today. Black roof, matte black wainscot bottom, white upper walls. It will have a 12x24 horse run-in area, small tack room, double sliding custom barn doors. Stay tuned. It will look sharp!

Here is an interesting project we completed a while back worth resharing. It’s the “hide a trailer” lol. This customer had a mobile home that didn’t blend with the brown cabins on the property. The mobile home was barely used and was like new inside. It looked like a time capsule. We first built a post frame roof over it, then removed the siding from the mobile home. Mobiles don’t normally have a very good layer behind the vinyl (or metal) to screw new metal panels to, so we added a layer of OSB. We then put on new metal and tied it in with the roof. I’m missing some pics of the stripped trailer and OSB installation, but it was done and really helped everything fit together well. Once done, a nice porch was added. As you can see it completely changed the look of the building. The owners say their guests who come to the farm love it!

This shows what a little creativity, ingenuity and project ex*****on can accomplish. It was an interesting and enjoyable build.

Just finished this 30x52x15’ near Barnwell, SC.

The supplier of our premium 2” square tube trusses has been developing and is close to releasing an engineered high quality 2” angle iron truss as a more economical truss solution. We used those here to provide feedback to the manufacturer on the trusses and to save the customer some expense. They are pretty nice for an angle iron truss and have 4 lower purlin slots.

While the new angle iron truss will be a good solution for some, I stand behind the 2” square tube truss we normally use as the nicest truss on the market, period! You’d have a hard time convincing me otherwise and we’ve used and looked at many metal trusses out there. The square tube trusses we normally use are strong, straight, stiff, don’t require bottom purlins and have a superior matte black coating that looks great and holds up really well.

Thanks to all the locals who have stopped in at the Hilda Crossroads Burger Barn to see the pole barn going up! That is a 36x72 with 6/12 pitch roof we’re building. We’ve passed out quite a few cards and talked to several of you about pole barn projects. Keep us in mind for your projects. We’d love a chance to earn your trust and business. We carefully build our pole barns to a SC stamped engineering plan. The 2” square tube trusses we use aren’t the angle iron trusses you typically see. These are the best metal trusses I can source. They are straight, strong and finished nicely. Feel free to come check them out.
