Before ➡️ After

This beauty may have gotten her feet a little chilly during the snow earlier this year... ❄️ But she's standing high and dry now. 🌊

We successfully elevated this home while preserving the original tapered porch columns and retrofitting the front steps to reconnect with them—maintaining the character and charm that made this house special.

Raising a home isn't just about protecting it from future flooding—it's about preserving its history while giving it a safer future.

Sometimes, saving a home means letting part of it go. 👋

This beautiful waterfront home is being elevated to better protect it from future flooding—but there was one catch.

The original concrete-floor sunroom couldn’t make the trip.

Believe it or not, that’s exactly what’s supposed to happen!

Unlike the rest of the structure, the concrete slab sunroom couldn’t be lifted with the house. It had to be carefully demolished so the main structure could be elevated safely. Once the elevation is complete and the new foundation is finished, a brand-new floor system will be built in its place.

Projects like this are a great reminder that not every part of a home can be raised together. And not every house can be lifted the same way. Every house presents its own engineering challenges, and every successful elevation starts with a solid plan.

One step at a time… and this home is getting a whole new lease on life.

This home already had a great waterfront view of the Pamlico River, but elevating it is definitely going to make those views spectacular now! Not to mention greatly reducing its flood risk.

Stay tuned for progress updates.

This is a great example of our design-build services. We worked with this customer to make his vision for his barn at his beautiful family farm come true!

When you live this👇🏻 close to where you play, you need a builder who KNOWS….

Knows the water. 💦
Knows the tides. 🌊
Knows the wind. 💨
Knows how storms affect us.
Knows the codes. 📖
Knows what lasts on the coast — and what doesn’t.

For us, building isn’t just about elevating a home.
It’s about protecting a lifestyle.

We live here.
We work here.
We play here.
And we build every project like our own family will be the ones riding out the next storm in it.

We've got another one up and out of the way of flood waters! Elite Structural Movers was able to lift it with the concrete slab front porch attached and intact. A huge plus in being able to preserve the character and original features.
