This arrangement includes 10 different native species — flowers, grasses, and foliage.

It’s a small example of how diverse native ecosystems really are. These plants once supported pollinators and wildlife in the landscape, and now their textures and forms continue the story indoors.

After cleaning the overgrowth in this container garden, something wonderful appeared — the native perennials are coming back strong.

Purple coneflower, lanceleaf coreopsis, wild bergamot, yarrow, and black-eyed Susan are returning beautifully after winter. This space also mixes herbs for cooking with native plants, showing that natives can thrive in containers and handle cold weather very well.

Now it’s time to refresh these containers with compost and nutrients to support the next season of growth.

🌱 One thing I often hear is: “What native plants work well in containers?”
These are great examples.
