Stage 1 Fire Restrictions are expanding to include the entire San Juan National Forest beginning Friday,June 12.

Based on recent wildfire activity, persistent severe fire weather conditions, and drought, Fire Management Staff are expanding Stage 1 Fire Restrictions to include high elevation areas where fuels are now drying out.

Under Stage 1, campfires are only allowed in developed Forest Service campgrounds with a metal or concrete fire ring. There are also limitations on charcoal grills, smoking, welding, and more.
