Constant Drain Leaks? Check Your Seal Stack Assembly! 🚰
If your iron filter or water softener is constantly dripping or running down the drain, a fouled seal stack is usually the prime suspect.
As shown in these photos, heavy iron accumulation blocks the valve’s internal seals, preventing the system from sealing off after a backwash cycle. Typically, when a stack gets this severely fouled, the filtration media inside the tank is heavily loaded with iron as well.
For homes with iron in their well water, we strongly recommend an annual Water Man house call. Regular checkups keep your control valves clean, protect your filtration media, and prevent unexpected water waste.

What 3PPM of iron really looks like! 🧪🚿
Take a look at these pictures. On paper, a water test showing high iron levels might just look like a number. But in your home, it looks like stubborn, rust colored staining across your tile, grout, and fixtures that no amount of scrubbing seems to fix!

We started the week helping a pilot who recently moved to the Village of Poplar Grove, Illinois by replacing their old water softener and reverse osmosis drinking water system.

Got a standing water mystery in your brine tank? 💧
When box store water softeners overfill, it often looks like a major system failure. But on this recent service call, it only took us about a minute to spot the real culprit before touching a single button on the valve.
Water had spewed all over the floor, overflowed under the cover, and collected back into the brine tank. The issue? The drain line had completely blown off the drain adapter during discharge! We reattached the line with a barb clamp, tested the cycle, and ensured the water level drew down properly, good as new!

The best part? It cost the homeowner $0. 💵❌
