On Tuesday of this past week, at about 7:30 AM, we began with Unloading Three Trucks from up top on the Interstate and finished late Wednesday afternoon with the Er****on of the Nine Contech Bridge Roof Sections on these Three 140’-0 Contech Bridges in Macon, Ga. next to Interstate 16 East to Savannah just past the Interstate 75 Split, that we Erected a few weeks ago.
Thanks to Chris Pittman with Contech for putting me in touch with Webber-United a few years ago about the job. Jorge the Project Manager, Omar the Superintendent, Hisham the Engineer, and Taylor the Crane Operator, were all fantastic to work for !!!!!!!
The Contech guys up in Ft. Payne, Alabama always do a fabulous job with the Fabrication of the Bridges. Codey and Derek and Tim are always great to work with and quick to take my calls every time I call them with a question !!!!
Webber-United has been Straight Up Great to Work for. This was one of the most difficult jobsites we’ve possibly ever worked on. And they helped us do whatever was necessary to get the job done. Looking forward to working with them again real soon.
Thank You Lord for keeping us All Safe while on the job and while traveling. This was a very tight and difficult and crowded jobsite to maneuver around.

These past Two Days, we have been at Standing Peachtree Park, working for the good folks at Hasbun Construction and the Path Foundation. We have been working on the 150’ Ramp to the 180’ Bridge Across Peachtree Creek that we Set a few weeks ago. It’s been a Hot Two Days but with the Assistance of Superior Cranes 180 Ton Crane and the Banner guys, we got it Safely Done. Thank You Jose Hasbun for the Job. Lincoln and Tommy and the rest of your guys were great to work for.
And Thank You Lord for keeping us all Safe.

It is always nice to come back to Atlanta and stay close to a bridge job that we have done in the past.
The first two photos are of a Pioneer Bridges 180’-0 Bridge that we set at Standing Peachtree Park over Peachtree Creek and right next to the Chattahoochee River for Hasbun Construction and The Path Foundation a few weeks ago.
The other photo is of a Contech 234’-0 Bridge that we did at the Braves Stadium right in front of the Omni Hotel at Battery Park, back in January of this year for J. E. Dunn Construction Company.
Both General Contractors that we worked for were extremely good people.
Ironically, both of these bridges were set with Superior Cranes 800 Ton All Terrain Crane with Heavy / Super Lift Attachments.
Both Bridge jobs went extremely well and smooth and safe.
We will be back to Standing Peachtree Park next week to put together and set a Pioneer Bridges 150’-0 Ramp and Overlook Platform Area between these two bridges. It will be a really cool Path Trail Bridge to walk over one day soon.
We are beyond blessed to have really good bridge jobs like these in Atlanta and have such good people and General Contractors to work for. And we are very blessed to have more really good bridge jobs coming up in Atlanta with more Good General Contractors to work for.
Thank you Lord for these great opportunities and for putting these people in our life and being a part of what we want Banner Industrial Construction to stand for. And thank you for keeping all of our men safe on the Job.

Had a meeting in Mountain Brook, Al. this morning and I took the opportunity to go look at Four Bridges that we have done over the years. And the odd thing for us is that they are all within just a few miles of each other and only about 25 minutes from our office in Bessemer, Alabama.

There are Three Contech Bridges & One Pioneer Bridge. We are Blessed Beyond Measure to have the Long Lasting Working Relationship with Both Bridge Manufacturers. About 27 years together !!!
As you can see, our Access to Assemble and Set Three of these Bridges back in and through the Woods made it a little bit difficult. But we were Blessed with a Great Team of Folks to work with on all Four Jobs.

Back in the Woods at Watkins Trail & Jemison Park in Mountain Brook.
Through the Woods at Samford University.
And Over Highway 31 in Vestavia, Al.

We like to Surround ourselves with Good People & Good Companies to Work For !!!!

We drove back down to Macon, Georgia yesterday and this morning, we had this Lower 140’-0 Long Contech Bridge Section set in place by 8:20 AM EST. And we had everything cleaned up and picked up and locked up and were headed back to the shop in Bessemer by 9:30 AM. Not too bad for the great Banner Industrial Construction guys !!!!!!!
Taylor, the Crane Operator, also did a great job with the 150 Ton Crawler Crane. He was very smooth and was right on spot with everything.
A really big thanks to Omar for working late last night and getting those core drilled holes ready and to Jorge for hanging in there so long with us and allowing us to do these three bridges for
Webber- United. They have been absolutely fantastic to work for. And we cannot wait to work for them again, and hopefully on a really big Beam Span job in WayCross, Georgia that will be coming up.
This might have been the toughest job site that I’ve worked on in 20 years. We had to rethink unloading and lifting and placing Bridge sections every single day. Thankful to have a good Operator who’s willing to work with me on ideas and suggestions that I make. We will see you guys again in a few weeks when we come down to put those Nine Contech Steel Roof Sections on the bridges. Looking forward to that. Thank you Lord for keeping all of us safe on the job site today. And for for giving us safe travels back to the office.

So we drove to Macon, Ga. last Monday to start a job for Webber-United that we’ve had a few years that has Three - 140’-0 Contech Pedestrian Bridges along Interstate 16 just past the 75 Split. It is an Extremely Difficult Jobsite and the weather through yesterday was in the mid 90’s with high humidity and no breeze. Very Tough Conditions. But the Banner guys Persevered through it. Was having a great day on Sunday, finishing up the last 140’-0 Bridge, and the 150 Ton Crawler Crane that a good Operator named Taylor had been operating all week, just had it about swung in place when a jobsite condition caused a stoppage in work. We’d had off & on storms & lightning warnings all week. And having 150’-0 of Crane Boom in the air at a time such as that, is not a good thing at all. So hopefully we can go back on Wednesday and Set the Last Bridge on Thursday morning. Sometimes you just have to be flexible and go with what Life throws at you.
Thanks to Webber-United for having faith in me these last few years and allowing Banner to do this job for you.

And Thank You Lord for keeping us ALL Safe in Macon for the last Six Days.

Man, was it hot in Atlanta today. About 95 degrees in Hotlanta today. But we finished today what we started last week. We had a Big, Superior Cranes 800 Ton
All-Terrain Crane with Heavy Lift put together this morning and the 14’-0 Wide x 180’-0 Long Pioneer Bridge that Weighed 97,000 lbs., Rigged To with Four 66’-0 Endless Slings and Two 4 x 4 Tube Spreaders and had this Bridge picked up slowly, swung around and Set down over the Anchor Bolts by 12:45 PM today.
Everyone involved in the project did a fantastic job today. Thank you to Hasbun Construction and the PATH Foundation for the opportunity to Set this Pioneer Bridge for you today. Thanks to Eric and Brian and Austin and our Crane Operator Popeye, and all of the other Superior Crane guys and the Banner Industrial Construction guys, for doing an over-the-top great job today. I appreciate all of y’all so very much.
We will be back on the same site in a few weeks to Assemble & Set a 150’-0 Long Ramp & Overlook.
This will be a really Cool Pedestrian Bridge, which is right where Peachtree Creek runs into the Chattahoochee River.
Thank you Lord for keeping everyone safe today, especially in this heat.

So today before 11:00 AM, we had the three sections of bridge that were bolted together picked up and Cantilevered out towards the Chattahoochee River and then we set it back down on Wood Cribbing and then we picked up section number four and spliced it to section number three and bolted up that splice and then set it back down on Wood Cribbing. Every single bolt had been tightened properly and the job site had been cleaned up and picked up completely and the 180 ton all-terrain Crane from Superior Cranes was being broken down and beginning to move out by 11:00 AM this morning.
Superior Cranes will mobilize an 800 ton all-terrain Crane with heavy lift on Monday morning and we hope to be swinging this 180’-0 Bridge that weighs 97,000 pounds sometime around noon or early afternoon on Monday and then break down and move out the Crane that afternoon.
Superior Crane’s guys and the Six Banner Industrial guys have done a fantastic job these last couple of days. Really just a day and a half to get all of this done. But it took a lot of effort and a lot of phone calls and a lot of emails between us and Hasbun Construction and the City of Atlanta and Department of Transportation and Pioneer Bridges and Superior Cranes. It’s been a total TEAM Accomplishment !!!! Thank you to everyone involved and we will see you Monday morning.

So this happened in Atlanta today at a place where Peachtree Creek flows right into the Chattahoochee River. We Unloaded Four Sections of a
14’-0 Wide x 180’-0 Long Pioneer Bridge, and we got Three of those Sections Spliced Together.
A very difficult job site to get Equipment and these Four Bridge Trucks back to, but the Entire TEAM did a great job and we got this amount of work done in just 5 Hours. All Trucks had Double Escorts and had to Back through the Park Gate and then to a Gravel Access Road to the Actual Job Site. All did a great job.
We had a Superior Cranes 180 Ton All Terrain Crane. We will Cantilever Out the Three Sections in the morning about 40’-0 and then will Set it down on Wood Cribbing Towers and will then Grab Section #4 and Splice it to the others.
We will then pull off of the job for a couple of days while a little more Site Work gets done to get ready for Superior Cranes 800 Ton Crane with Heavy Lift to come out Monday morning and Set Up so we can Pick & Swing this 180’-0 Bridge that Weighs 97,000 lbs. over Peachtree Creek, hopefully by early afternoon.
Thank You Lord for a Safe Day.
