🐾 FUNDRAISER UPDATE: We’re Almost There! 🐾
I have some incredible news! Thanks to the overflowing generosity and love from all of you, we have raised within $200 of our goal for Katie Mae’s emergency veterinary care. We are so, so close to the finish line, and I am completely overwhelmed with gratitude.
As a reminder, my sweet service dog, Katie Mae, is recovering after being attacked by a bear here in Black Mountain. We are trying to cover the cost of her life-saving treatment at VEG. As an Air Force veteran, having my lifeline on the mend means everything to me, Lisa, and the kids. Your support has quite literally saved her life and given us so much hope.
A Little Katie Mae Update:
The photo I’m sharing is from today. She is, understandably, a little bit nervous to be back out in the yard after her traumatic experience. We are taking things very slow, letting her set the pace, and giving her all the patience and love she needs.
Despite her nervousness, I’m happy to report she is in really good spirits! In fact, today she got a much-needed break from the cone! To celebrate, we gave her a nice clean and brush, which she absolutely loved. Seeing her look so fluffy and happy without the "cone of shame" was a truly joyful moment for our family.
We need just one last push to cross the finish line!
The remaining $200 will fully cover the current balance of her medical expenses at VEG. If you are in a position to donate, even just a few dollars, it would mean the absolute world to us. If not, simply sharing this post with your network and spreading the word about Katie Mae’s journey would be a massive blessing.

From the very bottom of our hearts, thank you for standing by us and for helping our best girl get back on her paws. We are so incredibly grateful for this amazing community. 🙏🐾
