First day back in the books! 📚✏️

Senior year for Kaylee.
5th grade for Rhyann.
1st grade for Beckett.

I couldn’t wait to talk to all three of them after school and hear about their day, and it made me incredibly proud to hear how great of a day each of them had.

More than anything, I love seeing the excitement and enthusiasm they each have for the school year ahead. They’re at three completely different stages of growing up, each with their own challenges, opportunities and adventures waiting for them.

One of the greatest parts of being a dad is getting a front-row seat to watch your kids grow, learn, find the things they love and excel in their own ways. From senior year all the way down to the two little guys at home who aren’t quite ready for backpacks yet, every stage seems to go faster than the one before it.

Here’s to a great school year for all three of you. Work hard, have fun, make some memories and enjoy every bit of it — because these years go way too fast. ❤️

The entrepreneurial weekend.

18 hours between Saturday and Sunday.

Not working on a customer’s property. Not producing an invoice. Not doing anything that directly generates revenue.

Fleet upgrades. Maintenance. Repairs. Shop organization. Getting equipment squared away and fixing the little things before they become big things.

Because Monday morning, our crews need to get where they’re going on time and safely, with trucks and equipment that are ready to perform the work the way we expect it to be performed.

There’s a whole side of running a service business that nobody sees.

The trucks don’t maintain themselves.
The equipment doesn’t organize itself.
The parts don’t order themselves.
And problems sure don’t fix themselves.

Sometimes entrepreneurship looks like growth, new equipment and finished projects.

Sometimes it looks like spending your entire weekend in the shop making sure everyone else can hit the ground running Monday morning.

18 hours invested this weekend so our crews don’t lose them during the week.

That’s the part of the job that doesn’t make the estimate—but absolutely affects the finished product.

Resetting some of the parking curbs at Country Kids Food Pantry inc. in Washingtonville earlier today with my trusty 25 year old Snap-on Tools 48oz hammer. That sledge in the background has nothing on the power produced by my big old ball peen.
