Not every roof replacement is straightforward.

Some homes have steep sections, multiple rooflines, chimneys, dormers, trees, and tight access around the property.

That is where planning matters.

Before the work begins, the crew has to think through safety, material staging, cleanup, and how to protect the home while the job is underway.

This kind of roof takes more than a crew that can lay shingles.

It takes experience, process, and attention to the details most homeowners should never have to worry about.

Memorial Day carries real weight for us as a veteran-owned company.

We’re grateful for the men and women who gave everything — and we don’t take that lightly.

Since many homeowners are spending time outside this weekend, it is also a good time to take a quick look around your home before summer storms settle in.

From the ground, look for:

• Missing, lifted, or curled shingles
• Granules near downspouts
• Ceiling stains or stains around vents
• Gutters pulling away or overflowing
• Tree limbs touching the roof

You don’t need to climb on your roof. In fact, we recommend that you do not.

If something looks off, Providence Roofing can take a closer look and tell you what we see. Contact us today! 🇺🇸

If your roof has skylights, here’s something most homeowners don’t know:

🔨 The skylight isn’t usually what leaks.
🔨 The flashing around it is.
☀️ That metal collar where the skylight meets the shingles takes the brunt of every storm — wind, rain, hail, sun, and freeze-thaw cycles all hit it from every angle.

🫪 Over time, the sealant cracks.
⚙️ The flashing lifts.
💦 Water finds its way underneath.
❌ And the leak that shows up in your ceiling?
🫣 It rarely looks like it’s coming from the skylight.
🤨 It usually shows up a few feet away, where the water finally found drywall.

If your skylight is more than 15 years old, or if you’ve noticed any staining on the ceiling near it, this is worth a look before the next round of storms. We’ll come tell you straight what’s actually going on up there.

📩 DM us a photo of your skylight or ceiling stain — we’ll tell you what we see.

If your roof isn’t leaking, it’s easy to assume it’s fine.

We hear that all the time.

But the truth is, a lot of roofing issues start long before you ever see a leak inside your home.

And on the flip side — not every roof that gets “flagged” actually needs to be replaced.

That’s where things get confusing for homeowners.

At Providence Roofing, our job isn’t to sell you a roof.

It’s to tell you what’s actually going on up there — and what (if anything) needs to be done.

If your roof has crossed your mind lately, we’re always happy to take a look and give you a clear answer.

Most homeowners never see this part.

When you get a new roof, what you notice is the finished shingles.

But what actually protects your home is everything underneath.

From the decking to the underlayment, this is where the real work happens — and where shortcuts can lead to problems later if it’s not done right.

At Providence Roofing, we focus on getting this part right from the start.

Because roofing isn’t just about how it looks when it’s done…

it’s about how it’s built.

What you don’t see matters most.

When most people think about a new roof, they think about shingles.

But what actually protects your home is everything underneath.

On this project, we made sure every step was done the right way — from tear-off to install — because cutting corners isn’t an option when it comes to your home.

✔️ Full inspection
✔️ Proper underlayment
✔️ Careful protection during the process
✔️ Quality work from start to finish

Because roofing isn’t just about how it looks when it’s done…

it’s about how it’s built.

A roof is more than shingles.

It’s protection.
It’s peace of mind.
And it’s knowing the people working on your home are going to do the job the right way.

This recent project in Blowing Rock is a great example of what Providence Roofing is all about — honest guidance, dependable service, and quality work from start to finish.

From the first look to the finished roof, our goal is always the same:

take care of the home and the people underneath it.

If your roof has been on your mind lately — whether from age, storm damage, or just uncertainty — we’re always happy to take a look and give you honest answers.

“Can’t you just put new shingles over the old ones?”

We hear this all the time—and I get why it sounds appealing.
Less work… maybe a little cheaper… done faster, right?

But here’s the truth most homeowners aren’t told 👇

We don’t install shingles over existing ones. Ever.

Because what looks like a shortcut can quietly create bigger issues:

→ It adds unnecessary weight to your home
→ Your roof can’t properly breathe (hello heat + moisture buildup)
→ It shortens the lifespan of your new roof
→ We can’t inspect what’s underneath (and that’s where the real problems hide)
→ And the “savings”? Usually just a couple hundred dollars

Not exactly worth the risk on something that protects everything you own.

At Providence Roofs, we’re big on doing things the right way—not the fast way.

But here’s what I’m curious about 👇
Would you rather save a little upfront… or know your roof is done right for the long run?

Or—if you’ve been told layering is “totally fine,” I’d love to know what you were quoted 👀

After storms like the one we just had, here’s what we’re starting to see:

• Lifted or missing shingles
• Minor damage that isn’t visible from the ground
• Small issues that could turn into leaks later

Most homeowners don’t notice anything at first—and that’s normal.

It’s usually a few days later when something shows up.

If you’ve been wondering whether your roof took a hit, it’s worth having it looked at.

Providence Roofing offers free inspections and straightforward answers so you know exactly where things stand.
