Skylights aren’t automatically a problem. The details around them are what matter.

When the old roofing came off this Boone property, our crew was able to see what had been happening around the skylight openings. There was old buildup to remove and compromised material that needed to be addressed before the new roofing system went down.

A new roof is more than new shingles.

It’s everything underneath them that determines how well your home will be protected when the next round of mountain rain, wind or winter weather arrives.

During a full roof replacement, the old roofing materials should be removed so the roof deck can be inspected. Once the shingles came off, the damaged wood around this chimney was easy to see. Before a single new shingle went on, our crew removed the compromised decking and rebuilt a solid surface underneath.
