Ever seen brick peel like this?
From a distance, this backyard brick grill looked fine.
But once we inspected it closely, we found the brick faces were separating and breaking apart, leaving pieces on the ground and exposing the surface underneath.
This type of deterioration is called brick spalling, and it happens when moisture gets into masonry over time.
If left untreated, it can lead to continued brick deterioration and more costly repairs later.
For this project, we repaired the damaged areas and restored the grill structure so it is solid, protected, and looking sharp again.
If your brick is flaking, peeling, or cracking, it may already be showing early signs of spalling.
