Large old trees 🌳 and small planter beds made for a lesson in restraint. Giant boxwood globes at the front door make a statement while we wait for the newly planted garden to fill in. Outdoor lighting is next✨✨✨I love working on beautiful old houses with charm and character 🌳The plant material includes Bay Laurel privacy hedges, gardenias, hydrangeas, Pittasporium and boxwood 🍃🍃🍃

9/25 (September 25) Happy Dolly Parton Appreciation Day! California is the first state to officially establish Dolly Parton Day as an annual State Holiday. Wow!
I have blasting Dolly Parton music often for a bright spot in my day. She has been called an Angel on Earth due to her extraordinary generosity, kindness and sweetness. Not to mention fun and charming. 🙌 She said instead of being judgmental just be loving. When in doubt ask yourself “What would Dolly do?”

Gaura is a garden favorite because of its long blooming season. Spring to Fall! To get more blooms you need to cut✂️it back and watch it rebloom. The nick name for Gaura is Whirling Butterflies because of its airy movement and whimsical vibe. Gaura is also pest resistant and great in the heat. You still have time to plant Gaura for Fall blooms!

A Lesson in Layering…It was great to make this beautiful house more attractive with layering. Layering takes time.
1. We removed the grass and succulents along the side walk and installed boxwood globes, rosemary and gravel🌳
2. Helped my clients design an entry gate and pilasters.🌳
3. Installed a boxwood walkway from the sidewalk to the gate.🌳
4. Installed a ligustrum hedge around the property for another layer of greenery.🌳
5. The homeowner recently added a beautiful entryway molding masterpiece for visual impact.
It’s all so lovely 🌳💫🌳

What if you did not want to spend time in your backyard? 🌳🌸🌳Let Teryl Designs fix that! We divided the yard into zones. We built a bocce court, a privacy hedge between the yard and swimming pool and Cocoturf put in gorgeous chemical free turf 🌱🌱🌱 Next is the formal rose garden and citrus 🍊 🍋trees… stayed tuned for the progress!
