A few words. A lot of trust. "Very knowledgeable and professional. Highly recommend." Thank you, Kim!

Short reviews say a lot. Kim Marchesano needed answers about a septic system and got exactly that: a thorough inspection, an honest report, and no runaround. That's the whole job, and it's the standard for every inspection we do across the Hudson Valley.

Roots don't stay in the yard. Our sewer scope found a large amount of invasive roots growing right inside this line.

Roots go where the water is, and a sewer line carries plenty of it. They find their way in through small cracks and joints, then keep growing into the dense, hair-like mats circled here. Over time, they catch whatever flows by until they restrict the flow or block it completely.

Often there's no sign of trouble until drains slow down or back up. That's exactly why we get a camera in the line!

You don't see these often anymore! This is an old hand-dug stone well, and it's still in use today.

Before drilled wells became the norm, wells like this were dug by hand and lined with stacked stone to hold the walls up. Dug wells tend to be wider and shallower than modern drilled wells, so the cover and the ground around it matter a lot.

Yes, we inspect wells too! We look at how the well was built and the condition it's in, plus how the water is protected at the surface.

Buying a home with a private well? Reach out and let's talk about getting it inspected!

Your next step? Book online! Schedule your septic inspection at a time that works for you, right from the website.

Juggling a closing date, a work schedule, and a realtor's calendar is hard enough. Booking your septic inspection shouldn't add to it. Pick a date and time that fits, and we'll take it from there: tank locating, inspection, sewer scope, or system measurements, with a clear report to follow.

Ready to get it on the calendar? Head to www.newyorksepticinspection.com/schedule and book your inspection today!

Your septic system is somewhere under that lawn. Here's how we pin it down.

First, we run a camera through the lines to trace where they actually go. Then we open the junction box, like the one pictured here. Also called a distribution box, it splits the flow coming from the tank between the drain field lines. We check that the flow is being distributed evenly, because if a box settles or tips, one line can end up taking more than its share.

Finally, we flag everything, so the homeowner knows exactly where their system is. Handy to know before you plan a patio or an addition!

Slow drains? Strange odors? Soggy spots in the yard? Your septic system may be trying to tell you something.

Gurgling toilets, drains that take their time, a sewage smell near the tank or drain field, or grass that's suspiciously green over one patch of lawn. These are the classic warning signs of a septic system under stress. An inspection tells you what's actually going on underground so you're working from facts, not fear. We look, we document, and we explain what we found.

Noticing any of these signs at home? Reach out and schedule a septic inspection!

Not every septic tank is concrete. This one is steel, and after years of rust, it's collapsing.

Steel tanks show up in a lot of older systems, and they don't age well. Wastewater on the inside and wet soil on the outside corrode the metal over time. Once a tank gets this far gone, it's a safety hazard as well as a system failure. Rusted-out walls can't hold wastewater the way they were built to, and a weakened top can give way underfoot.

If you're buying a home with an older system, it's important to know what kind of tank is in the ground. You usually can't tell from the yard.

Under contract on an older home? Reach out and let's get your inspection on the calendar!

Follow the dye πŸ‘€ There's no outlet baffle in this tank, and that changes where the solids end up.

A dye test sends colored dye through the system so we can watch where the water goes. The outlet baffle sits where liquid leaves the tank. It keeps floating scum and settled solids inside, so only the clearer liquid in the middle flows out. Without one in place, solids pass right through the tank and head straight toward the leach field.

Out in the field, those solids can clog the soil that's supposed to absorb and treat wastewater. That small missing part can lead to a big, expensive problem. πŸ”

Curious what's going on inside your own tank? Give us a call or book online!

Follow the line! A sewer scope inspection is a closer look at what's happening inside your pipes, from the house all the way to the tank.

Pipes don't have to be old to have problems, and problems don't have to be visible to be expensive. Our camera travels the full run of your sewer line and shows offsets, root intrusion, cracks, and low spots where waste collects. Perfect before a home purchase, after repeated slow drains, or any time you'd rather know than wonder.

Want to see what's inside your line? Reach out and book a sewer scope!
