I spent last Friday through the weekend praying and checking on all my old friends in eastern Tennessee and western North Carolina to make sure they were safe from the Hurricane and the resulting floods. Thankfully, everyone I've been able to check on has been good/safe/etc. However, I would like to help with any local support efforts. I'm not interested in sending money to any huge organizations that I don't completely trust, but if any of you know of local groups that are going into the devasted areas of western North Carolina I'd like to help. Angela Payne Blalock, Melitte Rose, Betty Stiles Waters, Mark N Cindy Reid, Mary Thornton King, Kimberly Morrow Wright, Glen Padgett, Cathy Padgett, Sherry Stiles - you folks are all on the ground much closer than me. Who do you trust for us to send support to? Also, by replying to this thread, you will be telling others like me where to send support. To my friends in Tulsa who have seen the news. Let's help out our neighbors in western North Carolina and eastern Tennessee please.

I have exciting news to share. I was just cast in a primary role (the role of Leo Tannenbaum) in a Christmas play for the Sapulpa Community Theatre (124 S. Water Street, Sapulpa, OK).

The play is called The Christmas Express (by Pat Cook) and will be running on the following dates: November 15-17 and 21-24. The evening shows are at 7:30 and the Sunday show is at 2:00. I'd love it if you can come!

I haven't posted any new stories on my website in a while, but it hasn't been for lack of writing. I've written three or four stories that I just couldn't put out for one reason or another (death, lack of approval from parties to the story, fact checking, etc). So, just as a reminder about how much Sonya Kimsey and her family meant to me, here's my story about the Kimsey Boys. I really hope I get to move back to the mountains again some day.

So my best friend invites me to the grand opening of a new Taco joint called Capital Tacos. It’s a VIP courtesy event and sounded fun. Then he drops out on the day of cause he’s too busy!! So, here I am with his son and wife eating delicious Mexican food!!
