As botanical besties, and I love to peruse through the lushness of our favourite plant shops in Brooklyn on a monthly basis to soak up some greenery and pick out some unique finds to add into our plant collection.🪴

Here’s my Selenicereus chrysocardium aka Fern leaf Cactus flourishing these days in the Jungle Home 🌿

This is actually a tropical epiphytic cactus that has board flat jagged leaves and blooms white enormous florals in the evening which I have yet to experience (but hopefully soon!)

I adopted it from a friend a year ago and placed it by my west facing windows allowing the soil to dry out between waterings and fertilise during the warm seasons .

She’s loving her new pot from by and I rotate it once in a while so the leaves can grow out evenly.

Current 🌿

When it comes to plant styling, I always love to play around with height, textures, colours and shapes. ✨

Don’t forget to pair it with your favourite botanical books and be mindful of your plants lighting needs to keep them happy. I get direct West facing sun that lights the plants for a few hours, and when that magical moment happens, it adds a burst of color and warmth into the space. ☀️

Shining a light on my grandma as she is the biggest inspiration for this account! 👵🏼I grew my love and knowledge for plants from her energy towards nature, and always lights up the room when she talks about her garden.🌿

She’s shown me patience, care and to never give up on the ones who are struggling - which reflects why my plant collection started from small pups and rescues. 🌱

I’m so glad that I was able to go home earlier this year to share more memories with her, from visiting local nurseries, sharing each other’s photos of our plant babies, and translating her precious recipe book💚

Most asked question this week: Do you miss Malaysia already? of course the answer is YES! 🥺 However I’m also glad to be back home with my man JP, cuddles with Pixel and the plants too. 🥰

It’s Houseplant Appreciation Day, so time to celebrate the joys and benefits of plants!🌿

Here’s a few things you can do today to give your plants that extra attention to honor their awesomeness! 🎉

🙌🏼 Admire new growth and be proud of how far its come!

💚 Treat yourself to a new plant, whether if it’s supporting your local plant shops, or trading with fellow plant friends.

🪴Give the plants who need an upgrade, buy them new pots or give them extra support to grow on like a moss pole!

💦 Get a fun watering can, play some music and give them the extra attention tending them today.

📚 Grab a book and read up on some new information to learn something new about your plants!

I truly believe that plants can teach you a lot about healing and growing. ✨ Establishing a plant care routine has helped me prioritise my own wellness and self-care, which led me to notice how different I felt being surrounded around greenery. 😊 Not only has it improved the air quality I breath in, it allows me to stay focus, appreciate the small things in life and most importantly makes me happy. 🥰
