Heartfelt Construction provides both residential and commercial renovation and construction services. It is a NYS certified MWBE and DBE business.

My name is Shannon and I am the owner of Heartfelt Construction. My goal for the company is to serve my customers the best quality of services in the field of both residential and commercial construction and home improvement. I was able to train with one of the most skilled general contractors in this field and I am now happy to share that I have my own company. I truly love what I do and there is

Still taking it all in…

In March, I had the incredible honor of being recognized as the 2026 WBE Award Recipient for Western New York at the MWBE Conference in Rochester—and I can honestly say, this moment was bigger than me.

This recognition is a reflection of the village that has poured into me, supported me, and stood beside me every step of the way. To my community, my partners, my supporters, and everyone who has created space and opportunity for me to show up and serve through Heartfelt Construction—thank you.

This award represents the long days, the lessons, the growth, the resilience—but most importantly, it represents what it looks like when a village raises a child. I am a product of that village, and I carry that with me in every space I enter.

To be acknowledged on this level, among so many impactful and inspiring individuals, is truly humbling—and it fuels me to continue building, serving, and creating pathways for others.

I want to especially thank the nominating committee, which included one of my amazing mentors for choosing me as the recipient for WNY. And I also am thankful for my friends and mentor being there to accompany and support me in this special engagement.

This is not just a win for me—this is a win for all of us.

✨ Exciting News! ✨

I am both humbled and honored to share that I have been selected as the WBE Recipient for Western New York at the upcoming MWBE Conference in Rochester, New York.

The conference will take place March 30 – April 1 at the Joseph A. Floreano Rochester Riverside Convention Center. This three-day event brings together entrepreneurs, business leaders, and professionals from across New York State to connect, collaborate, and grow.

The MWBE Conference is always an incredible opportunity to learn from industry leaders, expand your network, discover new business opportunities, and strengthen the community of minority and women-owned businesses throughout the state.

I’m truly grateful for this recognition and for the opportunity to represent Western New York alongside so many inspiring entrepreneurs and business leaders.

✨ Women in Construction Week ✨

During Women in Construction Week, I want to take a moment to recognize and honor an incredible woman who left a lasting impression on me — .mckissack

In February, I had the privilege of hearing Cheryl speak at an event where she shared her journey in the construction industry, the powerful legacy of her family, and the impact of building not just structures, but opportunities for communities. Her story is a true reflection of legacy, longevity, and lasting impact.

As a fellow woman in construction, moments like that remind me why representation and connection in this industry matter so much. Hearing her speak reinforced something I carry with me daily — don’t give up, keep going, and remember that it truly is possible to build generational wealth for our families and our communities through this work.

Meeting her and being able to connect with her personally is an experience I will never forget. I’m truly grateful for the opportunity.

A special thank you to Intersect Buffalo for creating spaces where these conversations and connections can happen, and a heartfelt thank you to for personally introducing me to Cheryl and making that moment possible.

Experiences like this remind me that the path we’re walking as women in construction is powerful, purposeful, and full of possibility.

✨ Project Highlight | Exterior Storm Door Updates

A simple upgrade that makes a big difference.

For this project, we installed three exterior storm doors for the client. The photos shown here highlight one example of the doors installed, which was personally selected to complement the existing color scheme of the home.

In addition to the storm doors, we also completed several other projects throughout the home for this client. While we don’t have footage of every update, we’re grateful for the opportunity to support multiple areas of their space and appreciate the trust they placed in us to handle it all with care.

Back in October, I had the honor of hosting my first breakout session at the 2025 Western New York Tradeswoman Summit, themed Building Belonging. It was an experience that meant more to me than I can easily put into words.

What made this moment truly full circle is that the two women who invited me to be a breakout session speaker were also the first women I ever met at my very first networking event as a skilled trades student. At that time, I was just beginning—learning, observing, and trying to understand where I fit in this industry.

Since then, I’ve graduated, started my own business, built a career in construction, and worked intentionally to create a name rooted in integrity, advocacy, and community. To be invited back—not as a student, but as a speaker and advocate—was deeply humbling.

This moment represented sisterhood in construction, the power of relationships that grow with you, and what it looks like when women truly support one another’s evolution. Being trusted to share my experiences, expertise, and voice in that space was incredibly meaningful.

A heartfelt thank you to Marie and Jillian for thinking of me, inviting me into this space, and asking me to speak at such an impactful event. I truly value our connection and am grateful for the continued support, trust, and belief over the years. I look forward to continuing to collaborate and build together in the future.

Some experiences deserve space to be reflected on before they’re shared. This was one of those moments—one that reminded me why representation, relationship-building, and advocacy in the trades truly matter.

This was special. And I carry it with me. 🤍
